As i am trying to put in practice already the most important concepts (not in a group of 10 but in my daily life), i start to notice more and more my egoistic traits. I become aware of the fact that i regularly have thoughts about my friends that are not so nice. I feel that i’m jalous or that i want to use a certain friend, or that i want to be the best in something comparing to my friends etc. At the same time i see also the egoistic behavior of my friends. I see the hidden agenda’s behind their words and actions. Together with my own egoistic behavior and intentions, its not so nice to discover.
And then i try to do an excercise: to go very consciously in pure bestowal (and this sometimes results in pure giving, literally (although i know that it’s in essence not meant literally). And when then, by coincidence, that specific friend who i gave so much, forgets my birthday and i don’t even receive a little message from him, i really have difficulties to continue to be loving to him. This is an example of what i experienced not so long ago. Probably arranged by the Creator, so that i become aware of the fact that my “pure giving” was not so pure at all? What do i have to do in that case? Its horrible that i have to admit that i’m not capable of unconditional “love”…
Baal HaSulam says that all the distinguishes one person from another is the level of the revelation of evil. Evil means the property that is opposite to the Creator. The Will to Receive, which is our property, was made 100% opposite to the Creator’s quality of bestowal. Now, what confuses a person, and how every person has deluded themselves into thinking they’re not so bad, is the shattering by which a spark of bestowal was mixed into the Will to Receive, and now is used by the Will to Receive, in order to receive even more. Therefore, each thinks they have at least some good in them. But actually that’s even worse that just being a Will to Receive. And there isn’t a spark of bestowal that isn’t mixed with reception in a way that the reception is in the driver’s seat.
I can only come to true bestowal with several alignments. I need to be aimed at a group of Kabbalists because what can I actually bestow? The world is as the Creator makes it. He left something for me to do or change in it? No. It’s already in perfect order. Not in the order I would like it, but in an order guiding everything to perfection, as quickly as possible, according to the constraints present in the Thought of Creation – that everyone would reach the perfect state through free choice, and so on. Therefore, what can I bestow? I can only disturb. So, I need a group of Kabbalists, I need to depend on an Upper Force – not like me, but a force of pure bestowal; not like me, weak, truly powerless, but a force of limitless power. Then, in that group – because they WANT to reach bestowal – I can help them in this, and since they want it and the Creator also wants it, that can be called bestowal, when I help it to happen.
Is it to our advantage when in a lab group of 10 to have a thorough understanding of each of the Sefirots, specifically ZA, and how they can help us in our spiritual development within the context of the lab?
It wouldn’t help but it would likely confuse a person because all we need is to turn to the Upper Force, a general, all-inclusive force. Which one is it? Doesn’t matter. For me, it includes everything. And like a fetus toward its mother, I have no hope of understanding what this mother I’m inside is in herself, nor would it add anything to my development.
I can understand in a certain way that we have to “exercise” and test things out in a Lab, but later on, why should we not include all humanity into our intention of bestowal ? I don’t like the idea that we are in a privilaged group and that only there “The Magic” can happen. I try to see the Creator in every single person I meet in daily life, also when they are not agreeing with me, or when things are not going the way i (my ego) likes. I try to feel then, how i can rise above my ego, also in daily situations. Why doing this practices (only) in a Kabbalistic group ?

I can internally try to relate to all situations as if they come from a single Upper Force. In addition, I can try to agree that this force is good. However, externally, I have to behave like what’s normal and expected in society, as though I have no relation to Kabbalah. This is actually the most basic spiritual approach that underlies anything more advanced. So, that, one can do toward everyone. But if I want to take further strides toward the Creator, I’ll need a Kabbalistic group, and on deeper layers of my desire that get revealed along the way, I’ll see that even the above I won’t be able to maintain without a special focus-group.
My question is, if you join a kabbalistic group should that be your only focus of connect and that other groups at work or families are irrelevant?

I have difficulties to grasp the notion of “partsuf” and its two parts ‘GE” an “AHP”. The way they are related and so on. Can you direct me to some readings and/or videos?

Hi Joan,
The graduate group is considered a group, but within it, when you begin the Young Group, you’re placed in a focus group of 10. These are more or less random, and remain the duration of the Young Group series of lessons. The important thing is that it’s a group of friends on the same spiritual path, implementing what they learn in the Young Group.
