This lesson beautifully highlights the significance of nurturing a spiritual relationship. When both partners prioritise their shared spiritual goals above individual desires, they can create a deep and meaningful connection that offers true fulfillment. The idea of having a “shared soul” becomes truly powerful when partners set aside their egos, engage in honest compromise, and support each other. This collaborative spirit fosters an enriching bond and connection that can thrive through life’s challenges and joys.
A spiritual relationship, to me, is not built on fleeting emotions or surface-level harmony. It is a sacred bond where two souls walk together toward the Creator—supporting, challenging, and elevating one another.
One insight that touched me deeply is that spiritual relationships are not about perfection—they are about correction. The Creator places us in situations that challenge our ego so we can transform it into love and bestowal. My current life is not a mistake—it is a precise environment for my soul’s growth.
I find it very new and insightful to know now that my wife and myself are two halves of one soul. I am guessing that this goes back to Adam and Eve, as I have referred to all men making half of Adam Harishon, and women making the other half. I never thought about it on the micro level like this though. It makes perfect sense though. I enjoyed learning about concessions as well, a new perspective on things. My next question would be that if one partner is making all of the concessions, wouldn’t that make it difficult for the other to match the spiritual progression alongside ours?
