I see this pain – the desire for the Upper world is too strong, it is almost an anxiety, this desire definitely belongs to the corporeal world, yet it comes up so strongly while listening and reading that it almost obliterates my natural openness and reception.

It is lonely. In some ways I feel that I stepped back in terms of my connection with Creator. It is quite painful.

        Yelena,
You may be an expert in other spiritual methods or may have a lot of experience in life in many things.
Here, let’s act simple.  Let’s keep the yearning that you have, that is the fuel, let’s try to act like we are born new to this wisdom, let’s try to hear what it says without covering it with a lot of old stories.  What you feel is what you feel.  Sometimes open, sometimes closed.   You can write this down in a notebook, but these feelings will keep changing, just like the weather changes.  In fact if you write these things down for enough days, you will see patterns and you don’t need to identify so much with the ups and down, you feel them, and they move you, but you understand what is happening, a mountain climber is not in anxiety over the steep climb, she prepared for it, she is invigorated by it.  Someone who is dropped down on the mountain and isn’t oriented to where she is and what is happening could be scared or overwhelmed by the steep incline and the rocky path.
Everything is OK, the is a long and well worn path to reach a sublime spiritual goal.  Everything happens slowly and practically.
Go step by step and stabilize yourself in this world so that you are not knocked over all the time and everything is going to work out.
Good luck with everything and hope to hear about your progress,

        Seth@KabU

How exactly do we bestow on the Creator?  If He created us to receive joy, pleasure, and abundance, would it be pleasing to Him to know that we appreciate even the so-called hardships, knowing that there is always the Upper Light that is given to us?  Bestowing on others does not mean we deny ourselves. Once I always keep in mind the intention of my thoughts and actions, I can see whether I act from pure ego and receive only for myself, or whether it is also good for others.  Am I understanding it right? As I read the texts and listen to the lessons, my heart and soul feel the light, but my head wants to understand.

And it is said that our environment is what we can choose; everything else is predestined by the Creator. So, what can we do if we are in an environment that is not at all interested in spiritual advancement? For example, my family. I cannot just abandon them because it’s not the right environment. And at the same time, I know that even my family is exactly what I need to have the desire for spirituality.

        Tiiu,
Your spiritual environment that will grow your point in the heart is right here, you are part of a huge international group of people who found this wisdom and are on the path to attainment.
Of course you are a mom and a wife and daughter, maybe a sister, etc. So be the best you can be. One thing does not erase the other at all, to the opposite, each thing should make the other better.
If you are a mom, can’t you also leave the house and do something meaningful in the world, or even take care of a mundane thing in the world like putting gas in the car or buying some fruits.  Those things do not separate you from your children.  To the contrary, your children always live in your heart.
Similarly you live in this world with your family, with your work, and you keep a connection to the Creator in your heart and slowly between these two seemingly opposite worlds, a new perception of reality will reveal for you.
This is how all of our senses operate by measuring between sensations, hot and cold, up and down, in and out, before and after.
From these two, we will reveal the Creator.

Queli I am so grateful for your post as it described exactly what I have been feeling, After reading and listening to it all I just felt as though I truly don’t see the point of any of it and felt confused and  demoralised. I have been sitting with the feeling and Seth s answer did a lot to shift things for me . (Thank you Seth). I just kept sitting in it and after Tony s two videos something shifted again. I realised that I want it enough to keep pushing through, It feels as though I am climbing a very steep mountain, I can’t even see the top. I want to cry about it but I am going to continue. I see my emotions are both ego based and a result of my desire for a ‘quick fix’ and I have to just be through it.

        Charlene,

I was writing you a response but I see that the response to Qeli, is very similar to what I would write to you. So read it again.

There is none else besides Him is what the kabbalists attained and wrote to us about.  It was first written by Moses in the Torah.
However we don’t feel that everything in our life comes from Him, every breath, every thought, every email, every glance by the driver in the passing car on the highway.
So  use your emotions to turn to Him and ask Him for your heart’s desire.

And simultaneously live in this world.

A true Kabbalist lives in both worlds and does not neglect this world, otherwise why did the Creator give us this whole world, take the “time” to develop it over 14 billion years and make a place in all the universe where some matter can develop to come to turn to Him.

We are lucky, we are at the center of the whole movie. Let’s feel where we are and the dramatic opportunity we’ve been given.

        Good luck to us,

        Seth@KabU

I am at week 8, and this is getting harder to follow. The Creator has our lives mapped out for us. The only free will we have (basically) are the people we choose to spent time with and the social media feeds we read. The Creator is immovable, no amount of prayer will change what is unchanging – we can only ask to change ourselves. But only if it is in service to others, and the greater good. Anything else is for the ego, for the self alone. At the same time all of our “desires” comes from the Creator and so therefore we can’t avoid them, even though we shouldn’t have them for the self alone? Prayer makes no difference to the Creator, (s)he neither wields bad or good things, yet at the same time he wields everything?

At this point, I am wondering what the point of my life is? Showing constraint on the books I read, living with an intention to serve as Mother Teresa, while knowing I get desires (that I shouldn’t have, but can have because they don’t come from me, they come from the Creator). Desiring food and shelter are acceptable – but no more unless it is for the benefit of others. Meanwhile, while having an intention to be the best person I can I see others, oblivious to the Creator ….living their best lives, being bestowed great good fortune, while contributing nothing. They laugh, have beautiful meals, get their teeth whitened and take holidays.

The version of the Creator that I had been learning and relying on (there is no one other than him) feels more like my friend than the one I am learning through this course. I don’t mean to be confrontational, but I am not getting a feeling of getting closer to him, I’m learning to become confused,

      • #503566

        Qeli,
If you’re confused, that is a good sign that you have entered into preparation phase of the study, you stepped into something new and its not like the life I knew until now.
If you are asking what is the point of my life, then the writings of the kabbalists are working on you.  This question is exactly what the wisdom of kabbalah comes to a person for.
If a person does not have the question about the meaning of life  and can be satisfied by this corporeal world then they don’t need the wisdom of kabbalah yet.

I don’t want to calm you down, because your fire and questions are fuel to find answers, but I want you to know that everything is ok.
All that happened is that a stronger light was shined in the room and now you see dust that was there before but couldn’t see.  Nothing else changed but that you see more and that revelation causes you to feel the nature of our will to receive that He made, which is opposite from Him.
Now is the time for a prayer.  When a deficiency is born like that, that is the time to turn to Him.  As you said, a prayer is not to change the Creator, a prayer is to change us, talk to Him like your closest friend, tell Him what you feel and ask Him to open your heart to be like Him.
The truth is we are as far from the Creator as East is from West, there is no greater distance between us and Him.
(Of course He couldn’t be closer, but to us, we are 100% to receive and He is 100% to bestow and in spirituality distance is measured by quality and we are of opposite qualities).
So we are as far from Him as can be and before you didn’t feel that and now in the light that shone for you you illuminated that.  Now you can begin to feel some of the words of King David in the Psalms.

Live a normal life in this world, home, vacation, exercise, family, now, we are responsible for our spirituality in our free time.  When we have time that is not taken by work and family, etc. during the time that we set aside for our study, that is when we want to yearn for all of the things that you wrote.  If you can separate these two worlds inside of yourself for now, you will be able to advance in a practical and clear way.
Later as you become used to this work it will start to settle in your mind and heart and you will be able to live in both worlds simultaneously, but that is not for now.

Let me know how you are going and I look forward to seeing you in our live classes soon,
        Seth@KabU

<p style=”text-align: left;”>I am confused as to how to answer the question. Would you please provide clarification of the very last sentence of the following.</p>
      COMPLETE

      Tip of the Week:

The Creator has your entire life planned out for you, down to what you will have for lunch today. But if the Creator has all of our decisions and moves mapped out in advance, in what way is free choice “free?” Tip for the Week: Look at yourself from the side throughout the coming days, and see what is driving your actions. Identify where you are driven by your will to receive’s calculation will help you locate the single point of freedom.

I appreciate your time and assistance,

      Kind regards,
      Sharilyn

        Sharilyn,
Let’s take it step by step. You are embarking on an exercise that the great majority of people walking around are not thinking of and media and education are not directing us there either so it is unfamiliar territory, however it is the most natural.
Imagine that you are filming your life, you are sitting, then you have a desire for a cup of coffee and go get a cup of coffee, then you go make your bed, etc, etc.
Where do these thoughts and desires come from?  We discover that they arise in us from either biological needs or things we’ve picked up from society regarding what to wear to fit in or stand out and how to wear our hair and what to drive, etc. etc.
We are not looking to mull over all of these things, but to honestly look at all of these things that we just accept as “me”, what are they really?  Where did they come from?  Do I parent this way because that is how my parents acted or maybe I do the opposite to not be like my parents, or maybe we read a book or a video that gave us some insight that we are trying…so we discover that each of us is built by all of these influences and that we are not “choosing” from all possible choices, but from what we are given by genes or society, etc. (to explain it simply).
That is the first step, just to observe and identify, naturally, comfortably, without judging it as good or bad, it is not good or bad, it is nature, like every plant and animal that does exactly the same.
And the next step is to turn to the Creator and say, OK, I see I’m a biological body and a social creature and I eat based on what my body craves and my society offers me and I dress like this and work here and act like this and You arranged all of that, but now I want to be connected to You consciously.
…and you know, this is like in our body, you have layers of systems, for example, you can breathe without thinking about it and also simultaneously play piano which takes a lot of thought and effort.
So here we are saying, on the level of regular nature, You are in control, but I want to develop the level of my soul, the awareness of my soul, which is not my body and my corporeal thoughts and desires.  A new point in me has awakened, a spiritual point, a spiritual awareness that is eternal, that isn’t just what my body thinks and feels and from that point, I want to start relating to You.
Try, we will do exercises like this over and over and accustom ourselves to a new perception of reality, something whole and integral and all good.
        Seth@KabU
