Hi Gil,  I posted a question on today’s Zoom session, but I think you missed it or time was short.  A good friend of mine asked me about the serpent in the bible..(Adam & Eve), Was the serpent was deceitful? honestly? I really found it difficult to answer him now that I know it means more than just what we read. I tried to share a link/blog to how Kabbalah depicts it…about the ego.. etc..  He somehow got offended and angry that I am trying to introduce him to other things.. as he wants to answer it as per the scripture..  I found it sad and a pity also almost angry… Why can’t he just get it.. How can you comment on this…? What is scripture..? How deal with such?  Thank you.

        Hi Zealot,

Thank you for reaching out with your question. It’s an important one, and I understand the complexity and sensitivity surrounding it.

In Kabbalah, every element of the Bible is interpreted as a symbol of internal, spiritual processes rather than external, corporeal events. The story of Adam and Eve, including the serpent, is no exception. To gain a deeper understanding of this narrative and its allegorical meanings, I recommend two specific videos:

        1. Adam and Eve in Kabbalah – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KU3fR48UnQM&t=1s&pp=ygUVYWRhbSBhbmQgZXZlIGthYmJhbGFo –  In this video, I delve into the story’s details and explore its allegorical significance.
        2. The Spiritual Worlds in the Story of Adam and Eve – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vqJ4BvzrHo&t=1s&pp=ygUVYWRhbSBhbmQgZXZlIGthYmJhbGFo Here, Markos, our senior KabU instructor, examines the narrative from the perspective of spiritual worlds and their mechanics.

Regarding your friend’s reaction, it’s essential to recognize that everyone’s readiness and openness to the wisdom of Kabbalah vary. “A person studies only where their heart desires,” as the saying goes. It seems lke your friend is not ready/open/interested in what the wisdom of Kabbalah has to offer  – and that is ok.

Thank you again for your question, and I hope these resources offer you further clarity and understanding.

        Best regards,
        Gil

If Im feeling very guilty what should i do?

      • #336122

        Hey mrc,

Recognize this is the Creator giving you this sensation. He wants you to feel what you’re feeling and He wants your attention. He doesn’t want you to enter deeper into yourself, rather He wants you to exit yourself, and exit being concerned with yourself and acquire a greater need to be like Him.

if a person already in spirituality whats happen in the mind body and surrounding? is it instant happiness etc?

      • #336121

        Hey mrc,

This is equivalence with the Creator–enjoying His position, His thought, His intention to do good to the created being. However, if there is more to be corrected, then this is just momentary and the next “layer” of the will to receive is revealed for a person to work on and come even closer to the Creator.

Is the step saying to want spirituality first or wanting it?

      • #336067

        Mrc,

In the beginning, a person does not truly want to attain spirituality. Hence, one must work on acquiring the desire for the desire for spirituality through integrating with the environment of books and friends.

does a kabbalist choose to do good more than pleasure?

      • #336066

        Mrc,

It’s not a matter of choosing good instead of pleasure. Rather, the good actions one does leads to the attainment of the eternal pleasures of spirituality. So by choosing good, meaning bestowal, one receives greater pleasures, but this is specifically in his vessels of bestowal and not his vessels of reception.

        Joseph
