I have a question. What happens when a person prays so much that it leads him to annul himself for spirituality?

Iheb,
Then he can receive something greater than himself.

Wow, no question but a comment: Â The lesson of difference between Kabbalah and religion was great! What a great explanation of the difference. Â Thank you for that and also this lesson brings the saying: The truth will set you free into a whole new light, how freeing it is indeed! Â Kind of makes one wonder how it was possible to stay on such an infantile level of spirituality (religion) for so long. Â Thank you for giving us the tools to speed along in our development!

That was an amazing explanation of the differences between religion and Kabbalah. Thank you for this 🙂
Now, after this video, I am even more confused of why the religion, especially the Judaism (since most of the great Kabbalists came from this religion) does not include more such explanations in order to avoid situations where a religious person is so much immersed in his corporeal interpretation of the Torah’s writing that totally forgets or more precisely, ignores the quality of bestowal of the creator, up to a point that he fully believes that anyone who do not observe the commandments the way the halacha teaches them, is a person that has a negative influence on others , ‘spoils’ the environment and causes for negative things to happen. There are entire religious communities that would not let anyone from the outside to mix up with them because of this reason. Their Rabbis (who suppose to know Kabbalah) are encouraging this, and do not raise up to embrace unity instead of division. In our days, I see more and more families , friends, groups of people , divided over ‘degree of religiousness’ and it is so frustrating that their Rabbis letting it continue, some even encouraging it by making statements and promissing people that if they start practicing religion things in their lives will get better. One more thing that makes me wonder – if religion does not change the person , do they have to come back again into this life until they slowly start developing their point in the heart and start ascending on the ‘sulam’ ???? Why the Kabbalah was hidden for so long – this period gave rise to a religious fanaticism that brought unspeakable suffering and division. What good came out of it ?

Varda,
If you take dirt and mix it with water and develop it for billions of years and burn it and stretch it and compress it and break it until it becomes vegetative life and then keep developing it until it becomes an animal and keep developing it until it becomes a person and now raise that person to the degree of attainment of the Creator, so that is a complex process.
Religion is a particular stop along the way to the goal of uniting humanity that is a vessel in which the light of the Creator will dwell.
So I’m not suprised that people who are more primitive in their desires adhere to customs and culture that they feel connects them to something.
The quesiton for you to ask is what is in our hands to do now that our point in the heart awakened and we start to feel that there is more to life than what religion shows me.

Actually, many Jewish rabbis, particularly Chabad, state the same ideas but in the form of commandments, i.e. tasks to be performed and goals to be achieved. But they do not explain why or how to achieve them. And so, the process becomes mechanical, which in my humble opinion defeats the purpose. I have been struggling with this for years and now I am finding a lot of answers in Kabbalah.

While I was listening to the explanations about how we understand out of our nature, egoism, the laws of nature, which are invariable, operating on our surroundings, and the way we use prayer to pretend to influence those forces for our benefit, I remembered how Job and his friends tried to understand the Creator’s mind.
Is there any article or video in which Rav M. Laitman refers to Job, to go further regarding this analysis?
Thank you very much.

Thanks for your answer Seth. Of course you are right and I am rephrasing my question . I really would like to know what can I do now in order to speed up my development of my point in the heart so I could understand and perceive more of the puzzles of life and at the same time maybe to help others close to me to start doing the same. Maybe my question gave the impression that I am judgmental toward practicing religious rituals but this is not my point. I am just puzzled by the fact that it was decided to hide the Kabbalah for a long period of time because ‘people were not ready’ but the Torah was out there and it seems like people were not ready for it either, because  it gave way to miss interpretations which not only caused a huge division between the people of the world but presented a twisted image of a vengeful creator who favors the ones that observe his commandments. This perception is still persist in a high portion of the religious population and makes the unification of the people through all of the world almost impossible.

Varda,
I’m sure you have plenty of complaints about how everything is.
If you could see the final goal, you would understand exactly why everything is exactly the way it is and there is no other way it could be. You are deciding from where you sit that the Torah should or shouldn’t have been revealed the way it was and that the wisdom of kabbalah should or shouldn’t have been revealed in the way it was.
You might as well ask why did the shattering of the soul of Adam HaRishon happen in the world of Atzilut!?
Or you may ask, why did the Creator create Malchut of Ein Sof, an infinitly empty desire?!
You will learn all of these things and they are good questions.
But what is in your hands to do, that is the most important question that you asked and from here all of your other questions and answers will be revealed.
What is in your hands right now is to make a very good and strong foundation in the fundamentals of the wisdom of kabbalah.
Later you will be able to work in a 10, a mini model of humanity and work in practical kabbalah, but none of that will be arranged correctly without a foundation in the fundamentals.
So study from week to week all of this lesson material, take notes, write about it, make poems about it, whatever you can do so that it starts to live in you, so that you start to feel in your life what you are learning in your classes.

Marta,
Read the story again and feel that everything that is being described there is happening in our desire.
After you have done that exercise, if there is another question ask and I will answer.

I was hoping to get some clarification on the third and fourth factors relating to an individual’s development. To my understanding, the third factor is a second layer of cause and effect driven by the environment. Using the seed analogy, this environment directly relates to the developmental process of the seed but cannot alter the predetermined path of development set by the seed’s nature, but it can influence the manifestation of that seed’s end product in a quantitative/qualitative way by producing more or less stalks of wheat than its progenitor for example. It appears that this occurs as a direct response to the interface between the essence of the seed in relation to the environmental conditions that are available and is therefore out of our conscious control, This just happens automatically. What I am having trouble understanding is the fourth factor of environment. At this level particular environmental factors are categorized as not directly related to the developmental process of the seed such as winds, other plants and hail storms that still have an impact on the seeds rate of development. Are we to understand the difference between factors three and four as environmental factors which we choose vs environmental factors that are beyond our control? If that is the case, then the seed analogy seems to fall a bit short because a seed does not get to choose whether it is exposed to other plants, winds, or hail storms. It was also stated that a person is neither punished for their good/bad thoughts and deeds because those things arise automatically but they are punished for the environment that they choose to abide in because that is what determines the type of thoughts and activities that they will engage in. If a person inherits a packet of data (via the bed )from their ancestors and previous incarnations, won’t that information have an impact on one’s decision making skills when it comes to choosing an environment for one’s self? If I inherit negative thoughts and behaviors, those thoughts will probably result in me choosing an environment that aligns with those thoughts and behaviors giving rise to more of the same. What would compel an individual with automatic negative thoughts to choose an environment contrary to their current nature?

Cinco,
As a review,
the first factor is the source, it contains, like a sperm the grown man, but only in potential
the second factor is the software that operates the source, this source will grow to be a man for example and not a penguin
the third factor are for example the food and the schooling that enters inside and influences the development
the fourth factor is poor economic condition of the country so instead of going to school, the person could only develop in the fieldThis is a simplified review, but to go further it was important to clarify.
We cannot change our source.
We do have the ability to chose a good environment.
Not every has the ability to chose a good environment. For some it will take more suffering and more incarnations.
