Religion is the conditions, rules and rituals man has made in the Name of God while abuzing power consealing Him. Is based on receiving and thus on passion.

I was at a Christian church this morning and the service was about prayer.  The service went over Jesus in Gethsemane and his prayer that not his will be done but the will of the creator. The whole service was about the creators will be done and not the creation.  It was exactly this message about changing egoism to altruism.  Arguably, the self sacrifice of Jesus brought billions into ‘religion’. And religion is how many start their relationship with the creator.  It did for me, until it wasn’t enough.  I dont feel many inconsistencies in my heart between the two teachings.  Where do the teachings diverge, not on a dogma level, but on a core heart level?

        David,
I’m going to leave that up to you to decide and discover.
I can write pages about the difference, but that won’t help you.
Here you found a method, a practical, pragmatic, realistic method, a well worn path that the kabbalists traversed and wrote about so that we can follow after them.
Here is a blog post by our teacher, the kabbalist Rav Laitman.
Also at the bottom of the post you will find links to other posts and you can enjoy the process of discovery as you wish.
Keep in mind, we are not trying to convince anyone at any church or anywhere about what we are studying, we only make the method available, but to a person who must have it, who desires it, who finds it and needs it.  There is no coercion in spirituality, only desire.

Is there a typical path for progressing in the understanding of the Wisdom of Kabbalah?  I am very committed because the teachings are really answering a call within me.  Should I expect a couple of years of study before I feel I’m truly getting somewhere with the teachings?

        Lora,
This depends on your preparation, your effort, on luck :), many things.
The path is well defined and simple.
And the material is learned very naturally.
Participate in these courses and digest the material, this is like breast milk or mashed peas and apple sauce.  It is the very simple primary nutrients to progress to really chewing the material, digesting it, making it a part of you.
Make a consistent framework that you can stick with in your life.
Not more than you can comfortably commit to.
Start with something that you can keep.
        You will build on that.
You’ll look back in a month, a few months, you’ll see already how much you understand, how much you are developing, how you feel connected to some upper system.

How can we be part of a group?

      • #312807

        Dan,
After the fundamental courses, you can join the graduate environment where you already begin to work with others on the path with you and you will have other opportunities for study and practical work in the kabbalistic group.

“The intention of the Creator is to raise man through all of the worlds until man is equivalent with the Creator.”

When man is equivalent with the Creator, does this mean that man IS the Creator, or that man is an additional, new Creator?

I’m confused as to whether there is One thing (none else besides him) or Two things, The Creator and the creature (who eventually grows into a Creator?)

Will we grow into essentially the perfect counterpart for the Creator, or discover we are the Creator?

        Shel,
Your curiosity and the development of your questions is correct.
You will have to get used to that the answers in the wisdom of kabbalah do not enter a person’s ear.
It is correct that in wrestling in your mind with the concepts and formulating the questions, this is the correct method.  But that you will hear a few words and that will resolve the question, that is not correct.  Our method is built on questions and answers, this helps us to build in our internality a correct vessel.
You can speak to your son about going out on his first date, but until he is there on the date with the apple of his eye, with all of those emotions and chemicals coursing through his body, this he needs to go through himself.
So we can speak a lot about what will happen after you acquire a spiritual vessel and what will you feel there and what will it be, but this doesn’t mean anything to us except for fun facts to write in our notebook.

So, for fun, let’s give you some fun facts for your notebook 😉
All of our study deals with a process called the 6000 years of creation.  Of course you should already know that we are not talking about how many times the earth travelled around the sun, these numbers all speak of qualities, not quantities.  That 6000 years is the time for the correction of the vessel until the “end of correction” when the entire vessel has changed from reception to bestowal.
Keep in mind that during this entire time we remain as a desire to receive, this is the creation that the Creator created.  Currently we are a desire to receive with an intention to receive.
All our work is to draw the light that develops us to invert that intention to receive into an intention to bestow.
In spirituality proximity is measured by equivalence of form, so as we become bestowing, we become like the Creator, more than like the Creator, it is called that we are in dvekut, adhesion with the Creator..until we reach the end of correction, this is the degree that the authors of the Zohar wrote to us from.
What happens in the 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th millennia, our books don’t speak.
When we get there, we will know.

How you know when you cross the barrier? What kind of internal changes take place?
      Thanks

        Roger,

How do you know when you are in Spain?

You bought a plane ticket, you packed a bag. Exactly what wind conditions and delays, turbulence, that you didn’t control, but you did many things that are clear in order to arrive.

And when you are there, it’s clear that it’s not Alaska. It feels different, you feel that it is a different place.
If course in spirituality it doesn’t matter to us about getting on an airplane, but we acquire new vessels of perception and with them we feel.
We feel the eternal existence that exists outside of our self serving ego.
