csillaPartícipei’m answering this question rather later than intended, since i am almost through the follow up course and noticed i’m at 96% complete here…. sorry, for the late share, but as i recall i think the information from the intro courses were very different. Through academics, which are accompanied by experiences – especially so in Kabbalah, i’m more at ease to connect through sharing the learning process. the excitement of learning can be shared more easily for me, than sharing and connecting while learning about connecting. So, for me it’s quite a challenge to be so aware of connecting, and, i’ve discovered a sense of obligation to connect that others probably won’t feel so acutely, since i’ve always taken a very long time to let others in. So, on a global scale, i’d say the Reforming Light is pushing me to confront and grow. On a clearly positive note, the course has led me to consider others in my life in a new light and perspective, i’d say, to a point of recognizing others more fully in their own independent essence and being, in their own worlds, so to speak, beyond the casual social interactions that transpired prior to the course. unlike academic knowledge, connection takes time to learn and grow in a real way, through ‘action’ and through ‘experience’… i’m hoping for the best. i truly am; and offer thanks 🙂

SuzannePartícipeI got more of an understanding on prayer; what gets answered and what doesn’t. I tried shifting my prayer and found out that it is really the same prayer. For instance, I could pray to receive more money. I want the money to help my daughter who is in college. However, if I shift the prayer and ask that she receive the help she needs, it’s the same prayer but it puts her first and cuts me out because I don’t really need to be the middle person anyway. It shifts the intention of the prayer. I hope that makes sense.
My hope for my fellow students is that their experience would be of love and goodness that the Creator desires to bestow onto them. I hope that one day we will be able to meet and help each other up the spiritual ladder.

NgoziPartícipeWhat most inspired me in the course is learning the importance of connecting in the group. I have learned that I need God’s help to change my intention to receive in order to bestow. I wish my fellow students adhesion with the Creator in this lifetime; that they “taste and see that the Lord is good”.

MsNandi MariePartícipeWhat most inspired me in this course are the following:
1. Prayer – I learned that it’s not the WORDS but my intention when I seek the Creator in prayer. I should not ask him for certain things but use this time to honor Him.
Key aspects of prayer in Kabbalah include
Restoring Unity: The universe is fragmented; prayer repairs this separation by uniting the divine feminine (Shekhinah) with the masculine aspects.
Drawing Down Divine Flow: Prayer serves as a vessel to attract shefa (divine bounty/intellect) into the world.
Self-Rectification: Prayer acts as a “spinal cord,” infusing life into the commandments and rectifying the body and soul through kavannah (focused intention).
Participating in the Cosmic Process: Prayer is not for changing God’s mind, but for elevating our consciousness to align with the Divine Will, bridging the upper and lower worlds.
Tools for Connection: The words, melodies, and physical actions (like talit/tefillin) are sacred mechanisms to ascend spiritual worlds, not just requests for physical needs. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7] (Google, Kabbalah Master Class)I also learned what it means to increase one’s vessel and how to do that:
“According to Kabbalah, increasing your vessel (kli) means expanding your capacity to receive Divine Light (abundance, love, and fulfillment) by shifting from a mindset of selfish desire to “receiving for the sake of sharing.” We increase our vessels by restricting reactive behavior, overcoming ego, practicing proactive sharing, and enduring challenges.” [1, 2, 3]
What have I learned about myself in the process:
I’ve learned that for most of my life I have only thought about my own needs and not about the act of bestowing. It’s okay to receive, but we should also want to align with the Creator and have a heart of bestowal. “Love our Neighbor as Yourself”.
What do I wish for my fellow students in their spiritual development?
To understand the process and to not become overwhelmed if certain things do not immediately make sense. To continue on the Path of Light through study and engaging with the teachers and their fellow students.

juniorPartícipeThe amount of effort that goes into creating this learning environment for me and the world truly inspires me. I learned that I can be too self critical of my self and others in the process. I wish for my fellow students to participate as much as possible in their spiritual development in groups.
