It is all an illusion. However we can impact this illusion by the three things you mentioned, the environment that we place ourselves in (what we feed ourselves-books and other media, people we choose to be around, and the people we choose to teach us)

It is a tiny part of my Essence. So, mostly the illusion of it is what is perceived. Grateful for the Point in the Heart and the Wisdom of Kabbalah! Now enjoying a Path of Light with Friends ❤️

My free will exists in my ability to chose my perspective on life events, remembering that there is none else but the Creator. My free will also exists in my choice of environment, teachers, books, and spiritual comrades. Free will does not give me the power to control anything in reality.

My free will is the choice of the environment to develop my soul.

I like to think that the events that happen in my life are the consequences of my doings, meaning that I could choose a different action. But knowing that everything in my environment influences my behavior and there is also the genetic component I believe I just play the part, but what is the script about? And what is it purpose?

I have free will in the choice of my environment which in turn influences (Or possibly improves) the other aspects of the work that I do not have any control over. The illusion can creep in when I believe I have influenced the Creator in anyway because He is the Lord and does not change (being that He is the ultimate perfection).
