Could the will to receive also be called the desire to receive?

      • #319984

        Hi Todd,

The will to bestow cannot exist without its counterpart – the will to receive. It’s why Kabbalists write, “there is no light without a vessel.” or “there’s no Creator without a created being.” The two forces are opposite but also one – None Else Besides Him. That said, you can’t say that the will to receive is also the will to bestow, they are two separate things.

        Thanks!

        Chris

      Hello

Unlike the writings of Dr. Laitman which are easy to comprehend, I noticed Baal HaSulam at times writes in a style of repetition stating the same point each time but changes the object and words around,  making the reading more like a workout (especially for the dyslexic), “Forward to the Book of Zohar” for exp.  Is this on purpose, or just his style?

Also, the website is rather difficult to use through my phone, is it because I’m using a 5 yr old IPhone?

      Thank you

        Hey Steve,

Yes, it’s true BHS’s style is more complicated, but there is so much “meat” there to digest, reading once, ten times, 100 times is often not enough to fully digest what he intended the reader to consume. Dr. Laitman often says he still finds new things in his writings – so I imagine we too have a lot more to go.

Regarding the website, yes, we are constantly working to improve it, but I would also check “use desktop version” if you’re having issues with the mobile version. The 5 y.o phone should not impact it so significantly. You may also want to try different browsers.

        Thanks!

      Hello!
In our ten we where reading this text: kabbalahmedia.info/en/publications/blog/laitman-com/17889

And could not understand what could Rav mean by word: ‘a wall’ in this sentence:

Accordingly, all the prayers Kabbalah describes constitute man’s plea to be transformed. Who does one address these to, a wall? If the Creator is constant, eternal, and complete, then He doesn’t react to you in any way.

Could you give us more explanation on this?

      Thank you!

        Hey Jurgis,

Sounds like the meaning of “a wall” is like saying “to thin air” – as in, addressing nothing.

Kabbalah teaches us about the forces of nature – which there are only two: reception and bestowal. We view the world through the quality of reception. Our will to receive is always “changing” and thus we perceive a moving, alive, world. In truth, our will to receive is being revealed to us more and more, opening up what was concealed and it seems to us that a moment “goes by” but this is just a change in state: lack -> fulfillment.

The force of reception is always looking for fulfillment and this chase gives us the sensation of time, cause and effect, etc.. However, the influence on us is constant. Meaning, the Creator’s attitude is only one – “to do good to His creatures.” Until we can reach equivalence with that form, when we perceive the world through bestowal instead of reception, we’ll see there is no time since He is above time and this world where there was such a concept it was only an illusion – “we were as dreamers.”

So when we refer to addressing the Creator and expecting some kind of reaction, some kind of change or response, it’s not that there is a change on the side of the Creator, rather the change is an internal one within us – more of our nature is revealed to us (consciously or unconsciously) and we have to work with that new addition and correct it.

It’s something that eventually we all will feel and become accustomed to this kind of “interaction”. We don’t know what it means that He is in us and we are in Him and slowly coming to this recognition takes many many states – and ultimately time. Each moment is precious since it’s the exact moment we need to progress to the revelation of truth.

        Best of luck!

        Chris

I’m now beginning week 2 of Kabbalah in Action, but I also see that the “Kabbalah Experience” course is available to start as well. Should I start that one now or is it better to wait? Thanks and best regards, Scott

        Hey Scott,

It’s preferred you continue with the course and wait. There’s an issue here that’s currently being looked at.

        Thanks!

And I really wanted to study Kabbalah very much but my mom doesn’t let me, even this post is Im being not over-righteous by seeking what my heart long for at the risk of leaving the law of my mother, what should I do thx, how can a person study God without studying Kabbalah.., should I stick to my original religion (Christianity) which I believe very much thx

      • #318830

        Hey mrc,

This is a pretty personal/individual situation which we can’t really comment on. These are things you’ll have to decide for yourself and figure out how to approach them, but you’d learn here that the Creator gives each and every one of us exactly what we need in every moment to bring us closer to the ultimate goal. You can be certain this is from above and the precise recipe for spiritual growth, it’s just how nature works. Anything that seems contrary to that is made to appear so on purpose as part of that general goal.

        Best of luck!

I have a feeling that someone is accusing me of murdering someone and it gets weird and people offend me for “the crime” that i didn’t do,would you help me with this issue thanx, just counsel me what I ought to do..thx

      • #318828

        Hey mrc,

The wisdom of Kabbalah is a method for correcting a person’s nature. Reveal the ego > correct it > perceive reality completely differently. If you have any issues relating to this world that you need to take care of we can only recommend you seek professional help as a solution to such problems.

        Thanks!

        Chris
