Hi im a new student and glad to be here.
in one of Dr Laitmans articles if i remember correctly he said “all religions are created by mans ego”, this makes sense but how do we reconcile judaism then? I believe Dr. Laitman practices judaism no?
genuinely asking. Maybe there is a video you can refer me too that explains this.

Hey Brad,
It’s just a culture thing. Judaism is a direct descendent of Kabbalah which came into practice after those who were in correct connections with one another, in love and in bestowal, were unable to keep that between them as the ego grew. This caused some to feel that it was ok to continue with certain physical actions which they felt was enough (since the ego is satisfied by not having to work in bestowal) while others disagreed and wanted to keep working on the inner corrections – ‘love your neighbor’.
What you see today is essentially a total reign of the ego, in all religions, as the concept – the idea – of rising above the ego to reveal the Creator has completely disappeared. Of course, this does not include that thin chain of Kabbalists who kept it going for our generation to reignite that candle and spread the method of correction to all of humanity which now so desperately needs it.

Why are we to be sorry and remorseful for what the creator does to us?

These are things a person will feel if they are aimed correctly. If you aim to steal and ignore who it affects when you do so, then you should expect to feel nothing. If you have the thought of the harm you caused others, you would regret it.
If you are aimed at the Creator and only want to do good to Him as He does to you, then you would expect that when you disconnect from that goal and think only of yourself that you would feel remorse even though you’re aware the Creator caused such an action.
All of the advise from the Kabbalists are not in order for us to force a certain emotion, but to be used as guides to check whether or not we are aimed correctly.

It’s a different world we’re living in. Before, if you wanted to make something, you had to find the materials and make ‘that thing’. In the digital age, ‘making something’ is kind of this virtual action. Of course there are efforts and imagination invested in bringing that thing – let’s say a tool in the form of software – to life, but the essence is 1s and 0s.
Don’t be concerned with needing to fetch a book made of paper and ink just to grab ahold of something with a ‘spiritual root’, but you yourself feel the text differently. Words maybe don’t help as much here, and I’m lacking them now, but read an article from a book and read the same from an ebook. The experience is different. Digital is almost imaginary – if you can understand where I’m getting at.
Having a physical book won’t advance you spiritually any more than an ebook would though, if that’s the question.
