PartícipeIn last night’s graduate class, we were studying Rabash’s article 77, “Greeks have gathered around me.” The last paragraph says:
It follows that through Greece, meaning the Klipa [shell/peel] of Greece, who go according to reason, we descend into the abyss and it is impossible to rise, as it is written, “I have drowned in the abyss of Greece” (Psalms 69), and only from above is it possible to lift up.
It quotes Psalms 69, “I have drowned in the abyss of Greece,” but I can not find that quote. Was it written in a commentary on the Psalm?
Thanks.

ModeratorHi Ed,
There’s a word in there that is the same word for Greece and for the corporeal object used – and it doesn’t matter that corporeally the rise of the Hellenists came long after King David. It only shows that we can only superficially understand what Psalms is saying. Even Rabash would sometimes refer to Psalms and say, “No, this I don’t understand.”

PartícipeHi Gianni,
Since everything here has a spiritual root, so must the Physics laws like Newton’s three laws of motion, the law of universal gravitation,
Kepler’s law, Archimedes’ principle, Ohm’s law, Gauss’s law, the law on Conservation of Energy etc.Can you please advise what are the corresponding spiritual laws? Where can I read about the spiritual laws please?
Thank you in advance!

ModeratorIf you want to hear as much as Baal HaSulam wanted to share about this, it’s in Talmud Eser Sefirot, part 1. In his notebooks, we saw that he was well aware of the principles physicists of the time we’re coming upon – but this is what he saw fit to tell us.

PartícipeHi Gianni,
What exactly is Sitra Achra? I’ve read that it is the other side, but of what? Of the will to bestow / the Creator? If so, then is it a will to receive, created by the Creator? What is the difference between the Sitra Achra and the will to receive?
As far as I’ve learned so far, there are only 2 forces, receiving and giving. So this Sitra Achra must be some degree of the will to receive, as we have multiple names for God, according to our attainment. What degree is Sitra Achra? Do we reveal it? Do we feel it? What do we do or not do with it?
Can you please elaborate a bit in this direction, or point out some materials for me to read?
Thank you in advance!

ModeratorThere are many degrees of the Sitra Achra because against every action there is an off-ramp into some twist into self-reception. The real study of this is just in trying to always aim through the friends, to the contentment of the Creator. Then you inspect all the different ways it’s not quite so. And then you have to re-aim. And then the Light works, and squares your intention more closely upon the right aim.

PartícipeDear Gianni,
In one of his classes Seth read a small text, supposedly written by Rav Chaim Vital where he describes what it feels like crossing the machsom. I have been looking for this text since, but can’t seem to find it. I had come across it before as well but this time it made a huge impression on me and I wanted to share it with my friends. Can you help?
Thank you <3

ModeratorHi Magsy,
It’s not really one of our sources, so it wasn’t translated. Seth probably translated it from the Hebrew text. I’m also a bit unsure about this text, as inspiring as it is, since there were so many fake and therefore misleading Ari texts, and Baal HaSulam and Rabash did not refer to it.

PartícipeThanks for all the explanations, I am very grateful for it :-). I found a short explanation about the four languages of spirituality, and that they are basically needed because they describe objects of the spiritual worlds, which otherwise could not be expressed as there are no names for it. But how are these languages used? Are these four languages interchangeably speaking of the same things, and equally difficult to be understood – or do they have different purposes and address to different stages in our development? So that at one stage we may understand the one explanation, and at another stage maybe another?
And then, does this anyhow connect to the „4 angels“, the four basic properties of nature: mercy, justice, truth, and peace?

ModeratorHi Verena,
It’s best you read directly from the source about this, and then ask if you have further questions.

PartícipeHi Gianni, thanks a lot, I think I have read that text before, and basically I understood things to be like a conduct of seal and imprint through the different worlds, and in a root-branch language that, as I understood, only opens up as you get there. I cannot relate this to the 4 languages of spirituality, except that you would find natureś wisdom in all these four parts- Thorah, law, legends, and Kabbalah (although I am not getting, why Kabbalah seems to be equal among the others). Plus, what made me feel even more confused is that part about a wise man having to work it out by himself, i.e. attain it, and only after that being able to refer to what a sage tells him. I mean, considering that I am just at the beginning of this journey, does that mean as long as I dońt attain spirituality, it doesńt make sense to read any of this, because I wońt be able to relate to it after all?

ModeratorYou should see Item 155 in Baal HaSulam’s Introduction to the Study of the Ten Sefirot, which explains why we nevertheless must study https://kabbalahmedia.info/en/sources/OqZMFGHu#error=login_required&state=cc050b9b-0313-40d5-9d47-72498c258b04&iss=https%3A%2F%2Faccounts.kab.info%2Fauth%2Frealms%2Fmain

PartícipeThe friends corporeality is my spirituality.
So how do I interpret this being in a virtual group. I understand when physically with the friends we can get them coffee or make them a plate and so on, correct? For a virtual group it is different. How is it different? I feel like we was told often to keep corporeality out of it in the young group and we would share things and friends would share things and sometimes that seemed to set the stage for much corporeality sharing. I know we are slowly giving ourselves time to implement these things. I just don’t know where the line is really.
When friends talk about their own corporeality it prompts me some to talk about my own. Not that I always succumb to this but sometimes I do and without a clear line I do not really know when I am doing it to much or not. It is an ingrained way of relating and takes time to understand what one is doing. Again though it makes it more difficult without clear lines.
You know? It is an unclear line so it is easy to talk one’s self into doing it again if one says to ones self that “I may as well do this because it is ingrained so why fight it when I don’t even know what it is to being with that constitutes going over the line.

ModeratorHalf a word about corporeality, if it’s needed to understand one’s relationship to the spiritual path, our connection to each other, but it ties right back into going more strongly toward the goal. I always need to check as best I can, “Does this yield more connection to the spiritual path?”

PartícipeHow do I know if something yields more connections? It is nebulous in corporeality, spirituality even more so, correct?

ModeratorEither you see the Upper World, and then it’s clear, and you have to free choice; or it’s up to you to decide, and there’s your free choice.
