How does the reforming light actually bring about change in us? Is there a particular analogy, narrative or mechanism that can be explained simply?

      • #394890

We’re so in it, and operated by the Light, that we’re trying to imagine a situation in which it works, as if it’s not already doing everything. That’s it’s greatest miracle. The question is if we move sooner to the actions it wants to bring us to, than it’s already bringing us to them – that is, toward connection.

      Hi, Gianni!

Another question for you: to remove the concealment one has to equalize with the screen, but which part of it? It has different properties. Is equalizing with the Aviut enough? Or is it just the first step? Can you explain more about this?

      Thank you <3

      • #394892

Equivalence of form is absolute equivalence – so that’s Aviut (coarseness), Kashiut (hardness), and Ohr Hozer (Reflected Light) upon each layer of Aviut.

Ah, so we don’t just need the right desire, but also the right intention and the right clothing. How are the desires and intentions different in each step of the concealment/revelation? What are they different in?

        • #394955

That’s actually a very complex question. But the formula is the same in every state: Light=Desire×f(Screen).

      hi

What are your thoughts on feeling bad for not doing enough to advance spiritually?

What do you recommend reading, when I’m not in a young group or ten yet?

      • #394836

If I dwell on it I’m in the Klipa (shell) and I’m even in a negative advancement. If the bad feeling spurs me to correct my actions, it’s good.

I recommend reading Shamati or Attaining the Worlds Beyond.

May I jump in here Gianni? Just a thought I would like to add for Kai Andre Saue Skjelbred for reading. There’s a little book, physically small, called Gems of Wisdom. I keep this with me when I am out and about. Just having it helps to keep my focus, and that is doing something spiritually. I always know it’s there. When I am waiting for something I open it to anywhere and read a little. Short pieces, easy to read. Gems of Wisdom.

That’s one I use also. Thanks, Sheila.

      Dear Gianni,

In the world of AK, the soul is not yet created. So can the soul reach these levels of correction that existed before it’s creation? Is it the soul that reaches them or is there something else beyond a soul to experience these corrections?

(By soul I mean the soul, not the individual human shattered piece)

      Thanks!

      • #394360

It’s a good question. We say that the end of correction is when all the shattered pieces of the soul reach their filling with the Light in Atzilut. But we see in the book HaIlan that Baal HaSulam draws degrees in which the worlds roll up like a carpet. And there are other suggestions in the Zohar that there’s something beyond. The whole process is the putting together of the car, and afterward we can drive, is how I heard it from my teacher. In the end, we’re talking about one Vessel that reaches perfection and Equivalence with the Creator, and there’s still something to do once we reach that.

This is so overwhelming! Kind of makes me grateful for all the concealments :>

But the Creator also prepared a joyous path along the way. It’s all bestowal, if we’ll just raise the discernment of connection above all others.

What does it mean if talking to your ten feels like an exercise in futility.  At best they will just ignore what i say and at worst will give me push back.  Then I have to wait weeks or months for them to understand some things I was trying to tell them all along.  Aren’t we here to hasten time.  What is the point of me even speaking when i have to wait for them to get things in their own time anyhow.   I have asked the creator for help yet he seems to be on his union break.

      • #394107

Baal HaSulam writes how Rabbi Yosi Ben Kisma made himself small before his students, and that’s why he advanced. You’re in a situation where you’re convinced that you’re greater than the ten. And this is the problem you have to advance, and not the problem you’re suggesting.

      Hi Gianni,

A question came up last night in our ten’s meeting and the friends wanted it asked here.

What is the real reason why Malchut wants to bestow? Why did it bring on the Tzimtzum Alef? Is it for an egoistic reason? There was “shame” but what does this mean? If Malchut wanted to bestow because of something it felt, then it wants it for its own benefit, not for the benefit of the Creator. Is it motivated by the same desire to “control the Creator, to operate Him, to become Him, to take His place” that you mentioned in your Kabbalah Explained Simply session from last Sunday? If not, then what drives it, making the desire to bestow stronger than the desire to swallow all pleasures that could possibly exist? We need to know how Malchut felt, because we want to feel this way, too.

      Thank you, Gianni <3

      • #393945

Still, there is an accumulation of bestowal, that he doesn’t even feel as bestowal. At first, he feels only the gift, and maybe doesn’t feel it as a gift; afterward, he feels the Giver. And then he has to do something. Because the feeling that he exists gets cancelled. Because He’s doing everything in me like a hand in a glove. “For Him,” “For me,” doesn’t factor in. I need to be like Him. Later, there is Malchut itself. But briefly, to feel as Malchut we need to feel the Creator’s love, and for that we first need to love Him.
