If you don’t know the difference between, or can’t sense the distance, can you have a true prayer?

      • #424695

        Lori,
A child plays with a doll, not a real baby, but that is the correct action for her.
Similarly for us, at first we are saying words but our hearts and our lips aren’t “connected” yet.
That’s a wondrous thing for us, we can act out our next degree even if we are not there in our animal body yet.
You are correct, that from feeling the distance, then we can have a greater sensation for a true prayer.
The advice is to keep making efforts and the Light will develop you and the light will illuminate the greater lack, like turning on a light in a room and seeing more dust than you knew was there before.  The light will illuminate a bigger lack and from there you will have a true deficiency to pray over.
However, and make a note of this, when the darkness shines, we often lose track of our spirituality and dive into ourselves and we forget to pray.  This is also on purpose as it gives a person as if some freedom to choose and not that we are simply praying as a reaction to feeling empty.
Looking forward to hearing good news from you,
        Seth@KabU

About setting the intention to bestow to the Creator, is it only for specific actions, or can the intention to bestow be set unto any corporeal action in everyday life?

How is one supposed to feel to know that the intention is set? I don’t think it does not just mean just saying it like “I do this for the creator, and not for me” when eating lunch, or is it?

How do I know that I do it correctly?

        Charles,
Eventually, everything, every eating, drinking, lifting, carrying, everything will be filled with this intention until….this world itself takes on a different form, but we’ll discuss that later.

How to feel?  Like a little kid who says I want to be a policeman or something like that.  He doesn’t even know what it means, but this is how we grow.  We ask the Creator, we pray, we try, first just with words and more and more we stabilize it in our emotions.

Thank you, it helps. Faith is the first point until we experience it first hand.

I know we shouldn’t be mixing other spiritual paths with Kabbalah, but I often think of our Will to Receive as our fundamental awareness, and this awareness receives the experience of reality, which is projected by the Will to Bestow. Similar to the philosophy of the Indian, Advaita Vedanta.

Advaita Vedanta suggests that each individuals awareness is kind of like a reflection of the one great awareness, which is all that exists. The analogy is that humanity is like a massive collection of pots filled with water, each pot has it’s own individual shape, but within each water filled pot is a reflection of the sun. The sun representing the One Awareness (consciousness) which is the only awareness that exists.

Could the collective soul of Adam HaRishon be described like this?

The Will to Receive is the sun (Adam HaRishon), and our individual ‘souls’ are the water filled pots.

Ps I really enjoy watching The Great Transition, always interesting and fun.

        Chris,
Happy to hear you enjoy the show on Thursday, say hi in the chat!

You are coming with a deep and emotional impression from the Indian sources.
Antother student is coming from his Peyote experience and a third student sees things through his previous lens of Jesus.
Each one is unique and sees various connections and similarities.

Good.  Creation is much bigger than we can comprehend.

a quote from our teacher, Rav Laitman, “There are many beautiful methods in the [East] that originated from Abraham’s method and that speak about love and bestowal. But it is impossible to develop the quality of bestowal within you using them. To do this, one has to work in three lines: one has to work with the left line (one’s egoism), and correctly combine the quality of reception with the quality of bestowal. This produces a third line called Isra-El (straight to the Creator). This approach does not exist anywhere besides Kabbalah.

However, all the Eastern methods came from the “raw” form of Abraham’s method and they all use just the right line, the quality of mercy. Despite all their beautiful words about love, we cannot implement them today, since we now have enormous egoism.”

What I recommend is to write down your thoughts for yourself, write the similarities, but do it as an exercise, you’re not trying to prove anything write or wrong, you’re not trying to prove a thesis, just to take your thoughts and organize them before you.
After that delve back in your kabbalah studies.
I promise you that if you study diligently for several years, you will answer all of these questions for yourself and many, many more and in a much more insightful and meaningful way than I can answer to you.

I’m in a bad way right now and it’s not improving. How do I see there is none else besides him when I see no solutions to my problems?

      • #423299

        John,
If you’re cold and wet, then go inside and stand by the fire.
If you’re overweight and sick, then watch some videos of people who were in your state and got healthy.
That’s the first thing.  You can read the Zohar, but if you stick your hand in a fire, it will burn, so understand the reality that we are living in
Now in addition to all of that understand why it is all happening.  These feelings of emptiness propel us to the next degree and for that, you can even say Thank You to the Creator for waking you up to that.
An animal does not evolve from lifetime to lifetime.
You however have desires in you that don’t let you calm down and rest, you feel empty and need additional fulfillment this is a good sign of development.
Now there is no mitzvah that a person has to suffer.
I recommend opening up a notebook, take some pens and write down everything that is bothering you now.  And then after you write it all down, go to the next page and pour your heart out to the Creator.  He won’t change, He is everything all the time, always bestowing, but this prayer calibrates us to Him instead of being calibrated towards the back side of the problem.
        Pour your heart out.
After that read whatever kabbalistic source materials that you have from our site, read it as if it is a prayer.
We are wishing the best for you and look forward to you passing these stages in the most comfortable way and advancing to your next degrees.
