What is Kabbalah similar to Christianity?

      • #405125

        Hi Jariv,

I’m not an expert in Christianity, so I cannot comment on that. In general, Kabbalah is not a religion, it’s a scientific method by which we can correct our egoistic nature. As a result of that correction, we become similar to the Creator, the general force of love and bestowal. As a result of becoming similar to Him, we reveal Him in practice, in our lives.

Baal HaSulam writes about it in the article The Teaching of the Kabbalah and Its Essence. Here’s an excerpt:

“all the conducts of creation, in its every corner, inlet, and outlet, are completely prearranged for the purpose of nurturing the human species from within it, to improve its qualities until it can sense the Creator as one feels one’s friend.”

      Hi!

What about the kabbalah tattoos that celebrities are having? Does kabbalah condemn tattoos or not?

      • #398941

        Hi Heli,

The goal of authentic Kabbalah is to correct our egoistic nature and as a result to become similar to and reveal the Creator, the general force of love and bestowal. Tattoos don’t do anything to correct our egoistic nature, so authentic Kabbalah does not deal with that.

How then do we correct our ego and become similar to the Creator? Only through the light. The light is a special force that can correct our nature. Our entire work boils down to extracting more and more of this light, especially from the Kabbalistic studies, and it does all the rest.

We’ll learn more about this in the upcoming lessons, in the meantime check out this blog post from Rav Laitman for more details: http://laitman.com/2013/02/sunbathing-in-the-rays-of-the-reforming-light/

How can you possibly connect with someone hates you and recently join the study?  and do interfere with your work in corporeal.

      • #397912

        Hi MayAn,

Our spiritual work of connection goes “from light to heavy”. Meaning that first we focus only on connecting with a small group, called a ten. Later on, after we reach a certain degree of connection there, we expand that connection to include other tens. And after we master that, we expand it further and further until we’re able to connect with the whole world.

The ten is like a nucleus upon which we build all of our work. Once we build that nucleus, we will be able to add to it wider and wider circles. But this is gradual work. And until we build that nucleus, we have nothing with which to do any spiritual work towards anyone outside of the ten.

In the meantime, outside of the ten, we should just act normal towards everyone. Not to make a righteous out of ourselves and also not to deliberately cause any harm, but just act normal.

If you’re already in the advanced semester and have already received a ten, you should post your question there.

I study Torah day and night, yet I am blind to my ego.  Will I learn how to make corrections in a real and lasting way.

      • #397832

        Hi Ken,

In order to correct the ego, you first need to reveal the ego. In order to reveal the ego, you need to do spiritual work in a group. That’s where the true spiritual ego is found.

Check out this blog post from Rav Laitman for more details: https://laitman.com/2011/01/get-down-to-pure-egoism/

We will learn how to work with and correct that level of ego in the more advanced semesters.

Thank you for everything you have done and continue to do to organize the information and providing this space.

      Here are my questions:

      1) I wonder, is Adam Kadmon a spiritual world and is Adam-HaRishon the soul? Thank you for clarifying.

      2) I understand recorded energy (like a live podcast that is later replayed) maintains its power- can this power be accessed collectively at disparate times (say 100 people access the same information but connect at different times)?

      3) How do we know if we are having or have had a spiritual awakening?

      Thank you.

        Hi Sergio,

        1. Yes, you can say that. Adam Kadmon is a part of the system of worlds. While Adam HaRishon is the active part within this system. Similar to how you have planet Earth and you have people or those that inhabit the planet.

Check out this blog post from Rav Laitman for more details: https://laitman.com/2014/05/the-human-is-the-innermost-part-in-the-system-of-worlds/

        2. On the one hand, there is no time in spirituality, so technically it is possible to watch a recorded lesson and tap into the same spiritual force at later times.

On the other hand, some people find it difficult to connect to a recorded lesson. It’s easier for them to invest themselves into a live lesson because it carries more importance in their mind. But this is more of a psychological problem and less of a spiritual problem.

        3. Spirituality works according to the law of equivalence of form. To the extent that we become similar to it, to the spiritual qualities of love and bestowal, to that extent we reach spiritual attainment. And to that same extent we reveal the Creator in practice. In other words, if we were truly on a spiritual degree, then accordingly we would reveal the Creator on that level.
