How many times does it require to develop the sixth sense and perceive the reality ?

So, let me see if I understand this. I am not able to perceive true reality because my five senses distorts  and limits it in terms of what it means to me.
However, there is something within me that can be awaken and will enable me to perceive and connect with this true reality within whom I live, move and have my being, is this correct?

Danny,
Hi. Our 5 senses extend from the 5 upper spiritual roots, sight from Hochma, hearing from Bina, etc.
The senses are doing what they are designed to do.
They are designed to give us a perception of one reality, let’s call it “malchut”.
We developed, a point in our heart awakened, which is the seed of the spiritual perception and we were guided to a place where we can receive some illumination from let’s say, “bina” and between these two opposites, we can build a perception of the spiritual, eternal reality. We learned that before creation, everything was one simple light, no beginning, no end, even in all directions. There is no perception there as everything is fulfilled completely.
Also on the other end in complete disconnection from the light, a creature only feels himself and nothing else.
But between these two we can bring the spiritual reality into focus.

Hi there,
I get a sense that our suffering lies with the conditionality of our acceptance (reception) of the Creator’s bestowal. If the Creator’s intention/will is to please us by His bestowal, and our intention/will is to receive and experience (that) pleasure personally, then perhaps our pleasure is limited by an incomplete acceptance of the Creator’s bestowal. If our will is literally the receiving/grasping of the Light of the Creator, then what causes our suffering would involve our “reflection”/rejection of that Light, which can only occur if our acceptance of the Light is partial. As an analogy, a red surface partially “accepts” visible light, as it absorbs all colors except red (reflects red).
Now, if the Creator’s will is to please us, then our pleasure is a measure of His pleasure. Therefore, if we allow the the Light of the Creator to fill us out of our love for Him, we delight in what we receive in order to please Him. Otherwise, we wouldn’t feel deserving of such pure pleasure if it were conditioned by our self-directed love (egoism). In other words, we are pleased by the gifts we receive from the Creator ONLY on the condition that it pleases Him, which it always does.
My question is, unless my understanding is incorrect, why does it take a lengthy process to reach this mutually beneficial state of affairs, despite its logical rationale? What’s missing?

Paul,
We are in this world, in this earthly manner, in this very little ego and we see what is happening in our lives and between countries. We are being shown where we are, far from each other, reluctant to connect, it’s hard for us to even think about it, I prefer all other kinds of things to do than thinking about connection with others and I’m waiting for something to change and it doesn’t.
We see how incapable we are.
This brings us to a new desire, for some help to come, something that we are incapable of. something that is above our nature.
this only comes after we have tried many things. If we didn’t try many things, then the reason can still come and say, there is more to do. But when we did all that came to our hand to do and still we did not attain it, then we have a new need.
This new degree is called “above reason” “lemaala mehadaat”.
To perceive above reason means that one has built a spiritual construction in his in his insides
Through doing all kinds of efforts in the spiritual group according to what they study together in the books of the sages, they make some masach on which to feel the Creator. It is called attainment.
The purpose of the wisdom of kabbalah is not to know the quotes, but to make contact with the Creator.
So, this is what we are engaging in.
Happy you are here,

Thank you Seth for your answer.
I think what you’re saying, and also what I’ve realized is that we need to recognize the futility of our own (egoistic) ways. But also (and profoundly), at the same same time, we cannot come to the Creator by any sense of need or compulsion. By that I mean our desire to connect with the Creator must be out of pure love, which is unconditional reception, just as the Creator is unconditional provision. If I want to come to the Creator in order to end my suffering, the desire for spirituality is there and can certainly bring me a level of peace if I imitate altruism for my own sake, but that will only bring about complacency in this world. I think we have to treat all of our egoistic experience as a learning experience. Therefore, we must value all life experiences equally, and not keep believing that we are not yet ready to receive the Creator, otherwise we never will. Basically, the act act of delaying satisfaction causes our suffering, yet we can never be fully satisfied without complete, unadulterated connection with the Creator.
To check my understanding, would the goal of exploring the upper spiritual levels be to see no matter how real appearances of altruism may seem, the actual intention is “in order to receive”? Meaning, we are not fully satisfied by our present condition because we aim to receive greater fulfilment at a later time in everything we do (i.e. our actions our conditioned upon a “will to receive” later, rather than a pure “will to receive” from the Creator without condition or with complete acceptance and trust, right now). Do we need to see that it is by our own actions we cause our suffering, and thus it is by our own actions (corrected) that we end our suffering?
I first came across some of the Kabbalah material over 10 years and miraculously it came full circle when I realized that the “faith” talked about in the Bible does not mean “mere belief” (actions have to completely align with understanding or “faith without works is dead”).
Kind regards,
Paul

How can I start to get familiar with some Kabbalistic prayers? Also, how can I keep Shabbat? Do you offer virtual Shabbat connections?
- July 16, 2022 at 7:48 am EDT #294373Seth – KabU InstructorModerator
Massimo,
The prayer book, generally called the siddur from the word “order” was arranged by kabbalists after the destruction of the second temple in Jerusalem. There would be no more worship in the Temple, no more animal sacrifices, songs in the temple, incense offerings, etc, it was all replaced with the order of the prayers.
You can read all of these prayers and not accomplish anything spiritual.
You can also say some words from the bottom of your heart that can shake all the worlds.
In short, the true prayer is what comes from the bottom of your heart. In the meantime, you can open the siddur or psalms and read those, they can help organize your inner life.
Regarding Shabbat as well, and your questions in general, you have found here a school of authentic kabbalah study. Here you will learn about the structure of reality, the meaning of life, the unified power of the universe, our relationship to it and more.
After you graduate from KabU you will have the opportunity to join with the other students of our teacher the kabbalist Rav Laitman. We have daily lessons together (3am Israel time), broadcasted live and simultaneously translated to a dozen languages. Keeping any religious traditions and customs is up to each person or group depending on their own customs according to their background, etc.

My problem is my intention and my baseline “Will to receive”. As I go through lessons on KabU, I find myself subconsciously thinking ” how can I use this knowledge to benefit myself in this physical world?”.
My biggest concern being that my “Will to receive” will prohibit me from ever getting close to the “Will to bestow” and eventually I get burned out and frustrated because of a lack of “advancement” in attaining Kabbalah.
Is there anything I can do with regards to my intention or will continuing my studies help me gradually get out of the “will to receive” and closer to the “will to bestow”?
Thank you

Hooman,
You are asking the perfect question and the discernments and clarifications that you are going through in your mind are very accurate.
Imagine that you are in an airplane and you are flying at 1000km/hour or 700 miles/hour. You look outside the window and there are no trees, no cars, nothing to determine your speed. You cannot tell if you are going slow, fast, there is nothing to measure against.
Now imagine you are driving in a car through town, you pass the school, the coffeeshop, you see these things pass by slowly, then you go to the highway and you go very fast and the trees are passing quickly, the cars are passing quickly, the ground below is passing quickly.
Now you can feel your speed.
Our will to receive always accompanies us to the end of our corrections.
It is from this (-) force that we can sense how to draw a corresponding (+) force.
We will learn a lot more about how to work with it.
You are moving in the correct direction!
