Anita KinoshitaPartícipeThis lesson helped me understand that there is an abstract reality outside of my senses and that it cannot be engaged with or understood with the 5 senses. If we want to engage and understand it, we need a special sort of sense. I understand that conceptually, but I don’t understand what that “device” exactly is? Can you please explain what this device is and how we can use it in plain language?

Seth – KabU InstructorModeratorAnita,
A baby has a brain and arms and legs, but she doesn’t become a world class dancer until many things happen.
First all of those parts need to develop in her and even when she has has all of the stength and flexibility, she still needs many years of studying how to move her body and what each movement feels like until it becomes second nature to her. Until she can do the most wonderful dance in the world without even thinking anymore because she prepared so much.
So, we can say that from the minute she was born and even from before, it is all “in there”, but it takes much accurate effort to bring it out.
Similarly, all of the building blocks are in you. The exercises of the kabbalists are to read the texts which draw lights on us that advance us, this could maybe be likened to not simply learning dance moves from an instructor but receiving the spirit of the instructor, the inspiration and the vision that drives the student to imagine the next degree, to have the power to move forward when it is all confusion and overwhelm.
Additionally we do exercises in small groups between us that builds the new spiritual forms in us, like an expert dancer who does exercises over and over until it lives in her.

GorzPartícipeIn the wisdom of Kabbalah, is it similar with other spiritual eastern practices like meditation to awaken our sixth sense? Or is there any spiritual practice on how to get into the point in the heart to perceived every hearts desire? Thank you.

Seth – KabU InstructorModeratorGorz,
There is no way to perceive the spiritual sense with our current tools.
How to perceive infinity with finite tools?
So what we do is we study what we are made of and from there we can start to as if approximate our distance from that infinite and slowly we start to make steps towards it, we learn how to adapt ourselves from being opposite to spirituality to being more similar to spirituality.
How many steps does it take to get to the infinite? Here too, without the addition of the Upper Light which elevates the person, he would forever remain in this world.

PartícipeCan we have some awareness of the vastness of the kabbalah reality prior to learning kabbalah and does this mean this could positively affect our journey to understand and connect with the higher forces?

Seth – KabU InstructorModeratorSuzanne,
We can have much preparation from previous incarnations and from the environment, but like learning piano and becoming a maestro, even if a person is born with some special quality, there is not other way than spending time acquiring the knowledge and practice.

MariePartícipeHow to recognize the outer true reality allow it to be manifested oover the 5 senses in the box?
- April 27, 2025 at 9:07 am EDT #435376
Seth – KabU InstructorModeratorMarie,
It is not perceived with our 5 senses, which make us feel “the box”.
We need to acquire other spiritual senses.
That is what we are going to learn about.

PartícipeInteresting you mentioned in a discussion that Jesus is not written about by Kabbalists. Does that mean Abraham Abulafia is not among the Kabbalists we are learning from?

TamarPartícipeDear friends, my questions are:
How can we taulk about the 5 senses and interpretations of reality when they’re so different unique persons in the world?
Can we access to the spiritual world though our souls or just by the” a point in the heart” that grows and the lader steps?- April 24, 2025 at 10:44 pm EDT #434958
Seth – KabU InstructorModeratorTamar,
Each of our 5 senses extend from their upper spiritual roots
Seeing = Hochma
Hearing = Bina
etc, etc…
It’s clear that each sense works in a special way and gives a certain impression.
You can have a red sports car and I can have a green pick up truck but we both know that our cars are one kind of thing and a bicycle is another type of thing, so we do have some way relate to the world even though as you said we all “see” the world differently, in fact we construct our world according to our desires.
Our senses only perceive this world.
The point in the heart is the seed of our soul which will grow to perceive with “5 spiritual senses” the eternal reality.
