    שלום Dear כלי!

    I know my letters and can even type them and the vowels as well… but I am slow and cannot converse in Hebrew, yet, however I have a deep love for Hebrew, as I have come to understand the vessels of light who have gone before us, teach that the management of this physical world is done through the Hebrew letters – דעת תבונות by Rabbi Moshe Chaim Luzzato.

    My impression is that in a sense our donkeys are made of them so it really makes sense that we attain a high level of understanding of how to operate them!

    Hello Gil, and fellow vessels of light!

    Thank you Gil for your desire to fulfill our desire to know more of what is inside and behind the 22+5 letters of the Hebrew alef-bet.

    My name is Lee and there is really nothing to say about myself except that I am just like you, having this great desire to learn how to convert reception into bestowal and reveal the names and appellations of the Creator.

    I feel we are on the one hand inside the letter Yod and going round and round in circles (igulim). No  alphabet to me, means no learning and no attainment.

    I encourage everyone to read and reread The Letters of Rabbi Hamnuna-Saba in Zohar For All until you wear the covers off of it. Pages 117 to 178.

    Also learning the kabbalistic meaning of the nekudots in this article and applying that to your Torah studies increases ones understanding of the text.

    Everybody needs a passion to become one with the Hebrew letters. I hope you will develop a passion to feel them deeply.

    Great lessons Gil! Todah raba!

    My question: In “THE LETTERS OF RABBI HAMNUNA,” (below) אויר has only one ו.

    BB’s website uses two different spellings of avir, אויר and אוויר (one ו as well as two וו’s).

    We see the “Expanded Name” of ו is וו …(as well as being in the alternative spelling אוויר).

    Can you explain the reasoning for this?

    There seems to be a hidden nuance that I am not perceiving… maybe the usage of אוויר (two vav’s) is a modern Hebrew/corporeal/science usage, while אויר is Kabbalistic (?) and thus biblical/religious, but I couldn’t even find אויר in Torah. When speaking of “air” (Masoretic text) uses השמים/שמים, which I see the י inside of מים (water-mayim).

    From The Letters of Rabbi Hamnuna: “This is designated in the following way: the letter Yod enters the word light (Ohr contains the letters Aleph- Vav- Reish, signifying the Light of Hochma), and forms the word Avir (air, containing the letters Aleph- Vav- Yod- Reish), signifying the Light of Hassadim. If the Partzuf returns to the Gadlut state, the letter Yod exits it, and it is refilled with the Light of Hochma. Consequently, Avir (air) becomes Ohr (Light).””

    What is the significance of the otiot having a parent sefira? How do they work together? E.G. How does Reish work with Hod and vice versa?
