PartícipeHow do we overcome our egoism to elevate ourselves in building similar qualities as our creator?
- May 22, 2026 at 8:21 am EDT #501001
Seth – KabU InstructorModeratorKimberly,
It is very natural process. Whereas we biologically and emotionally develop naturally and no one needs to tell us to stop playing with toys and to prefer more mature pleasures, we just do it as we grow up.
In spirituality, it is a similar mechanism however it requires our participation, it doesn’t happen on its own. Each of us had an initial awakening to spirituality, that is called that the Creator puts a person’s hand on the good fate.
And then what is up to us is to take it.
To do that we need to elevate the importance of spirituality for each other, we need to advertise to each other the importance of spirituality, just like the world advertises to us a new phone, a new car, a better vacation, in the spiritual environment we need to advertise to each other the value of a greater and greater spiritual environment and then naturally the lust for it, the desire for it will grow in us and we will use all of the qualities that we have for holiness, for eternity, for love.

ShahinPartícipeHello,
To maintain the quality of your character as a creator, in a world where many people are often more focused on receiving than giving especially in business can be very challenging. But I believe that’s exactly the point of the journey: staying true to your values despite the environment around you. Any thoughts or insights on this?

Seth – KabU InstructorModeratorShahin,
See my response to Qeli below.
The spiritual world is specifically not the corporeal world.
The corporeal world is a set of branches that extend from spiritual roots.
We cannot pull on some levers down here in the material world to effect consequences up in the spiritual world.
This physical world is specifically broken/shattered in order that through it we will develop our inner desires for something whole.
Meanwhile externally, we live in this world in a normal way.
You would not forgo food and say that “I’m spiritual, I’m a soul, I don’t need food” or “I don’t need sleep”. Our body is like every other body, it needs food and sleep. Similarly in our business transactions, there are rules of this world and we need to abide by them, we cannot say, “I’m spiritual, so I’m going to behave in the workplace in a way that only I’m working spiritual but everyone else around me is operating as animals in the jungle.” In this case, you will end up with nothing for yourself. As you progress and stabilize this method in your internality, … imagine a mother with a newborn child, even though she may go here or there, she may transact in the market, she may dispute her internet bill on the phone, but in her internality she is always attached to her newborn, similarly we will stabilize ourselves to always be adhered to our soul and to the Creator even as the body goes through the life of the body.
Later we will understand exactly why we needed to go through all of the states of this world, as it says, one’s soul will teach him.

QeliPartícipeI am still struggling with giving and receiving. I fully understand the concept of Equivalence of Form and the requirements to me more like the Creator. Now I have read the reading on Reshimot. I have been someone who has given too much for too long, at my own expense. It has taken me a lot of time (and therapy) to learn how not to sacrifice myself by giving so much to people who are happy to take. Being one who has given more than she took has been part of my learning, growth and history. Now, as I am reading I am wondering if my Reshimot is a predetermined suffering, that wanting to receive for the self alone, to put myself first instead of taking care of others, their needs and feelings and talking responsibility for things I am not responsible for is the path I should return to? I came to Kabbalah becuase I have a problem receiving. I ask for nothing, take nothing and give to the point of it being problematic. According to this work – that should be ideal?

Seth – KabU InstructorModeratorQeli,
There are layers to discover here.
First of all, let’s say there are two levels of you, like all kabbalists. For the sake of illustration let’s call it the donkey and the rider just so we can understand, or if it’s more graceful, the horse and its rider.
Your body, our body is the horse, it has a life of its own, this is the you that goes to therapy, had to relearn how to walk on the path correctly and not get hurt. The horse herself has to be healthy, as healthy as can be.
So arrange your life in a way that you don’t get hurt, etc.
Now on the horse is the rider who is thinking about completely different things than the horse. This is your soul, your internally. While your body says no to someone, inside you can still have the intention that you want love to fill their heart, even though they scowl when you say, “no”. It’s like your soul is having a secret love affair with the Creator. Let the body do the life of the body on Earth, but inside you can have a secret loving relationship where you and the Creator are bestowing love upon everyone, even if your body isn’t giving anything to any, because as we know, as you discovered, giving with the hands can be harmful to yourself and to others as it corrupts relationships. But inside you can be overflowing with love for all.Read that part again, because it must be clear to you what level you are learning about here. The wisdom of kabbalah is not telling you what to do with your hands and legs. The wisdom of kabbalah is talking about the direction of our heart.
Now let’s go deeper and for this you will need to take an accounting of yourself. All of that giving you were doing was because you felt that that would be the best way to be safe, or to be fulfilled or to be seen as the kind of person that you want to be seen as. In short, you were filling your ego up by being a so called giver. Some people fill their will to receive by taking and some people fill their will to receive by giving, but either way, every creature is a will to receive looking to maximize pleasure/safety/etc. So for this part, the main thing to do is to understand what is operating you and everyone, it is a will to receive (the donkey/horse). The wisdom of kabbalah doesn’t work on the donkey/horse level, it works on the soul level.
On the horse level you need to stabilize your life in this world. On the soul level, when your spiritual goals become big enough and you have the correct influences around you that model that life for you, you naturally move in that direction, steer the horse in that direction. For example, no one has to tell a teenager to stop playing with toys, naturally as the desires become more mature, the person craves new things. So here too as your spiritual desires become more mature you will naturally be drawn towards a more harmonious, spiritual, whole desires.

ReynaPartícipewhat happens if you are at the heart level but don’t necessarily care for power?

QeliPartícipeThank you. This is an insightful answer and I will take some time to think about it deeply.

Seth – KabU InstructorModeratorReyna,
Each of us is a unique combination of all of these desires and also expand your definition of “self” to include all of your previous incarnations as well as those in your sphere and those in further spheres. Our soul is like a hologram that exists in full in each and every one, as you correct your part, that part of Reyna gets corrected in everyone else and as they correct themselves, their parts in you become corrected. It is literally as though all of humanity (even all of creation) is one soul that feel itself as separate pieces separated by our physical bodies from one another.
