    Hey Brad,

Anytime you come across a “law” in Kabbalah, it’s referring to spirituality only–how a person is able to “chain” themselves to spirituality in order not to be disconnected. Meaning, the thought of creation contains a program which its single purpose is to bring the created being into complete adhesion with its Maker through correction. The Kabbalists detail how this system works and what a person needs to do in order to not “waste time” making mistakes, deviating from that path of correction towards the end goal.

    Hey Michael,

That’s not completely true if you look at Abraham or Adam who were Kabbalists before there was even such a word “Jew”, also Rabbi Akiva etc. “Becoming Jewish” you could say is what happens when the point in the heart awakens in the person–not having anything to do with religion or who your mother was.

What you’re basically saying is, “Can I not invite suffering in order to advance further/faster?”

The answer is no. The Creator arranges the increase in Aviut, the revelation of more uncorrected will to receive. It’s not on us to ask for the evil. Our only work is to ask for correction. If you feel there’s “nothing to correct” at the current moment, then this is the concealment acting. If you engage in acquiring more greatness in the goal and with that do actions to integrate yourself more in the environment, you’ll surely reveal resistance to that and thus a need for the Creator.

    Hey Michael,

Not the exact same thing. It’s as it’s written, “from love of the created beings to love of the Creator”. The article Rabash wrote about needing to reach the first floor before you can go up to the second floor (the Creator) speaks exactly about that–but also in many other places. It seems like a complication because He’s concealed. It’s not the “world” that’s “Good that does Good”, so when this force is gradually opened up to a person–that this is the single operating force in reality–He becomes the closest to you, the one that understands you the most, the one that penetrates everything, this is who you have business with. Therefore, the more we progress and stabilize ourselves in a ten where we can rise above our ego, we enter a new perception above the ego which previously concealed this force from us and use the environment as a means to constantly increase our contact with the upper force more and more.

    Thanks!

    Hey Brad,

The rule “there’s no coercion” speaks about bringing someone towards spirituality–it’s because you can’t “buy” a desire for it.

With regards to you daughter and other similar examples, as a parent we of course want to educate them as much as we can about the path. They should know what exists out there, that’s important, but being an example is the best route.

    Hey Brad,

Sure why not. There are some great posts there that go in depth into many topics, but the Rav would certainly recommend studying only from BHS or Rabash. Nothing wrong with supplementing to help guide the conversation or the workshop, but we only study from the sources.

    Thanks!
