      He there,
This course is great, i love it! Thank so much. I had a question about Spiritual Leaders. What do you mean with it? I thought the new generation is pretty fed up with ‘gurus’ (roughly said). I am not saying that about Rav Laitman, but I mean more the fact that people brainlessly follow leaders which in the end also have bad intentions.
But I guess you mean more leaders in general with a spiritual mindset. Because understanding more from the lessons, the world goes to a place with more unity and I thought that we less and less need leaders. Or did I understand it different?

On the one hand, you’re on the right track in your thinking that as we go more towards connection we don’t need a human leader because we are all in the revelation of the Upper Force, the Creator who leads all of reality. And then there can be no disagreement or confusion. All is clear to all. But as long as some of us are not in open attainment of the Creator, there has to be a person or a handful of persons who together, with a single opinion, lead the others. And actually, the Upper World is built in such a way (and this is why humans are prone to attach themselves to false gurus) that in the Upper Worlds there is always an Upper Degree that you must nullify to, in order to rise to the next degree. In other words your teacher is always your teacher. As you rise through the degrees, you discover them higher than before. So, on the other hand, the concept of one teacher above the student never goes away. I will always have my teacher, Rav Laitman; he will always have his, RABASH, and RABASH will always have his, Baal HaSulam.

How to depict an upper level, i. e.  next degree (level)?  I assume after crossing the barrier, which takes some time? ( 3 years, indicating after reading a blogpost by Rav.  Leitman)? Being curious, I know, but anywhow.

      It could be motivating.

        Hi Paul,

Problem: all our language comes from experiences of the world we are born in. There are no words in our language to describe the Upper World. There are no experiences that are similar. Even the words that we somehow use to help a person try to imagine what they should do to reach the spiritual world – the person of course doesn’t hear them correctly. But these words are, again, not in order to describe spirituality, but to give the person a depiction that, even though it’s not correct, it is a depiction towards which he can move in the direction of spirituality. And he also doesn’t move in the direction of spirituality but he, by this, positions himself before the Upper Light, which is standing by to make the changes in the person, which bring him to Equivalence of Form with the Light, a form of bestowal rather than reception. And by Equivalence with that Upper World, he feels it.

      Hi!

Very interesting lesson this week. I’ve been thinking about our times, and fear is a predominant theme – prolonged wars, environmental problems, and Covid. One of the most troubling is this doubling down on human liberty and news outlets are openly promoting division. This may be a symptom of our time which will lead to a closer unity in the end, but in the meantime, how can someone that values freedom and autonomy of choice thrive in such a setting?

        Hi Mira,

Humanity is headed not towards more superficial freedom, which is what they had, but towards the feeling of incarceration. And it will be immeasurably more pleasant a realization if we understand beforehand that we are imprisoned by our own egos. I am locked inside a bubble, and it doesn’t let me out. I always do what it wants. It leads me down a slow, painful path of development – towards the same goal we’ll reach inevitably – but through a press of development. If we learn the wisdom of Kabbalah we can learn how take our destiny into our own hands and how to truly feel free. Because free doesn’t mean democracy or being able to post whatever my ego feels like it and whatever I want. Free means to be above my ego. We don’t feel how to exit it is to sense a totally new, eternal world, above time and space. Just this, as if this small trigger within us, keeps us chained to this perception of reality. And it is something slight, but infallible.  As a result of it, is the persistence of my perception – that I’m in a world, there’s no Creator here, and it’s a pretty bad world. But this is just the radish I was born in, and I thought the whole world was bitter like this radish. But when we become free of it we come out to a wide wonderful world. So, in short, we have to learn the wisdom of Kabbalah, discover how much the ego controls our every move, learn what force exists in nature to enable me to rise above it, and what system do I need to establish contact with in order to rise out of myself to.

Hello. General question. How to better tune in for spiritual lessons?

      • #60360

        Hi Jurgis,

First by absorbing as much of our materials as possible. Then by implementing them in the group. That “tuning” is when you tune yourself to the general direction of a group of students who are on the same spiritual path.

If I understand the lessons correctly so far, efforts are needed to grow in consciousness, attracting the reforming light. Efforts in the form of studying kabbalistic texts, in a group, under the guidance of a kabbalistic teacher.

I can feel the neccessity of joining in a group, because individually it is difficult – or impossible- to restrict my ego.

So, if I,  intentionally and consciously participate in a group (restricting some of my egoistic desires) , is that the positive charge Julian talked about? Put it differently, is that building a screen? What would be a second restriction, if there is any?

      • #60359

        Hi Paul,

That’s right. The Restriction & Screen are built in a group. That is the only way one will have something that is not him and feel the difference between for me and for others. I need to specifically integrate with others who are on the same spiritual path, it’s those additional inclinations towards it, which I am missing to build the Restriction and the Screen. Counting the Restrictions isn’t necessary because there are too many to count up until through many efforts it is actually built by the Light.

      Dear Instructor,

I would very much like your help understanding the following sentence from the section below. “we begin to work in there as He did when He was there.” makes it sound like I know what to “do” and I don’t 🙁  Am I missing something from a previous lesson? If we are to act in place of the Creator – I’m at a loss. Thank you.

Circle: The Quality Of The Creator.  The circle is the Creator quality, while the straight line is the creature’s quality. But since we work in the straight line with faith above reason and wish to be similar to the circle, we fill the circles. The Creator as if abandoned this place and gave us the freedom to act. And we don’t return Him to this place with our demand; instead, we begin to work in there as He did when He was there. This means we fulfill the circular sphere through the straight line.

This is not simple, but it involves the Restriction of the egoistic desire for myself and then I am neutral towards my own desire, above it, as if it does not belong to me, Therefore, I am objective towards myself. I do not use my desire now without first checking whether upon any desire, I can place an intention for the Creator. We have a lot of study before us, to be able to do this. Because first of all, step one is to study for the Reforming Light until it will gradually clarify in me what is the desire in me, that is in order to receive through and through. And then it has to clarify the Point in the Heart, so that I will see that I am like a dipole, with two completely opposite systems in me. Then there are more steps, but the main thing is to know that I need to absorb as much Kabbalistic material as possible, to draw as much of the force of Nature as possible which is standing by to change me internally, billions of inner changes which I have no power to discern, let alone change on my own. But it can and it will.
