ModeratorHi Julia,
All the Kabbalists started out just like any one of us, living in this world. At a certain point their points in the heart awakened, they began their spiritual search, and eventually reached spiritual attainment. But even after attaining spirituality for the first time, Kabbalists continue to exist on the level of this world throughout the entire spiritual ladder of development. This is because this world is a necessary starting point for attaining any spiritual degree.

ParticipantThank you for the explanation. Could you please help me further? If all the Kabbalists started in this world, then what this descending line in the picture represents (from Adam to Rashbi)? I thought it represented the different words they lived in, but if all of them lived in our world than I am confused.

ModeratorHi Julia,
The graph represents the process of spiritual development. Spiritual development depends on the ego. The bigger the ego, the higher the level of spirituality that we can attain once we correct it. Going down means that more egoism is revealed. Going up means that a higher level of bestowal is achieved, or in other words more corrections take place over the ego.
Check out this blog post from Rav Laitman for more details: https://laitman.com/2015/09/where-is-the-upper-world/
Why were those Kabbalists depicted as going down on that graph? Because they started out with a very small level of ego and as they developed they began to discover greater and courser levels of egoism.

ParticipantHi Albert is it safe to say that the light changes us periodically, and with this change we read, and see a new different perspective or meaning inside the text?
If so have you ever experienced this before in other places like in music or in other books, and have you ever experienced connections between them?

ModeratorHi Daniel,
1. Yes, that’s exactly how it happens.
Check out this blog post from Rav Laitman for more details about the light: https://laitman.com/2013/02/sunbathing-in-the-rays-of-the-reforming-light/
2. I don’t understand this question, please clarify it.

ParticipantHello,
Thank you for KabU. I love Kabbalah Revealed with Tony Kosinec and the lessons here on KabU. My question is about when a person is integrated with others through altruism. It resonates as totally true that consciousness of human unity is possible. It’s a little challenging to mentally fathom the experience yet I’d love to know:
Does a person resolve all of their own individual issues imbalances once integrated with humanity?
Must a person first resolve all of their imbalances before experiencing this oneness through altruism?
Does a person have to redirect all of their desires before this experience?
Can a person bestow this experience to another once they’ve had it for themselves?
Thank you again for this course and for Kabbalah Revealed 🙏🏾

ModeratorHi Sean,
1. When we learned about the common soul of Adam HaRishon, we saw that the only thing broken in the entire system of creation are the connections between us. This is the source of all the problems in life and really the only thing we need to fix. So once we integrate back into that system, we would resolve all of our problems.
Keep in mind that this is a gradual process, broken down into 125 steps. Every time we rise one degree, we resolve one set of problems and then reveal another set. And this continues until we are all fully integrated back into this system.
Check out this blog post from Rav Laitman for more details: https://laitman.com/2014/05/puzzle-adam-harishon/
2. Since all the problems stem from the shattering, the only way to truly fix them is to correct the shattering. On the level of our world, we’re still obligated to go to the doctor and take care of things in the normal way that we do here. But the true solution is only from reconnecting the parts of the shattered soul.
3. We don’t have the strength to work with our desires directly. It’s ultimately the light that does all the work on us. Our job is only to extract more and more of this force, especially through the Kabbalistic studies, and it does all the rest.
Check out this blog post from Rav Laitman for more details: https://laitman.com/2013/02/sunbathing-in-the-rays-of-the-reforming-light/
4. Not directly, but we can help others reach it themselves. Which is why we disseminate the wisdom of Kabbalah and open up courses like those on KabU, to teach the world how to use this method.
