Albert – KabU InstructorModeratorHi Robert,
The revelation of evil means that our nature is completely egoistic and does not allow us to perform ANY actions of bestowal. If we reveal such a thing, then how can we overcome it? It’s impossible. Only the light can give us such strength. So immediately after the revelation of evil comes the time of prayer, of extracting more light to help us to overcome our nature.
We’ll learn these things in depth in the upcoming lessons. In the meantime, check out this blog post from Rav Laitman for more details: https://laitman.com/2013/02/sunbathing-in-the-rays-of-the-reforming-light/

Albert – KabU InstructorModeratorHi Varda,
1. It depends on the context, but you can interpret it the way you did as well.
2. The 613 desires that we are learning about are spiritual desires, meaning desires that we don’t yet have. This is similar to how a single cell in a body only has some basic desires. But when that cell is part of a greater body, it reveals there higher desires which are impossible for the individual cell to have: desires for money, honor, power, etc. Same with us, until we integrate with the general body of Adam HaRishon, we don’t reveal or understand these 613 spiritual desires.
Check out this blog post from Rav Laitman for more details:Â https://laitman.com/2008/12/all-you-need-to-know-about-the-613-desires/
As for the 613 Mitzvot, each Mitzvah (commandment) is an INTERNAL process by which we correct the corresponding desire. In other words, Kabbalists don’t look at the 613 Mitzvot as physical actions to be performed by our hands and feet, but rather as allegories to the internal process of correcting our desires.
Check out this blog post from Rav Laitman for more details:Â https://laitman.com/2016/02/mitzvot-commandments-the-correction-of-desires/
We will learn about these things in depth in the advanced semesters, especially when we start learning articles like Matan Torah.

Albert – KabU InstructorModeratorHi Alejandro,
Although these are indeed Kabbalistic books and there were countless other Kabbalistic books that have been written in the past, in our days, we mainly study from the writings of Baal HaSulam and Rabash. This is because egoism grows from generation to generation, so Kabbalah, the method for its correction, needs to get adapted in each generation for that level of egoism. For example it’s like in medicine, if a person has a headache he can just drink a tylenol and that’s enough to fix him. But if it’s not just a little headache but something cancerous, then that tylenol won’t do anything for him but he needs a completely different regime to heal himself.
This is why Kabbalah gets adapted in each generation to the level of egoism that is currently found in that generation. So although there were many different Kabbalists and Kabbalistic books throughout the generations, nowadays we mainly learn from the writings of Baal HaSulam and Rabash, since their writings contains the light that is most suitable to correct the egoism that is found in our generation.
So my recommendation would be to stick to their writings, which you can find in the Kabbalah Media Library.

Albert – KabU InstructorModeratorHi Marita, great questions!
The teacher is a guide. We have our laboratory, which is the Kabbalistic group, and the teacher guides us on how to properly connect in the group. This is essentially the gist of all of our spiritual work.
Is it one person or many? Right now, there are many instructors that are passing you the foundations of Kabbalah. All the instructors here are senior students of Rav Laitman who have been studying Kabbalah with Rav Laitman for many years and have been extensively trained by KabU to be instructors for beginners. After completing the courses on KabU, you should have a strong enough foundation to connect directly to Rav Laitman’s lessons.
One on one interactions with the teacher are not necessary, since the essence of our spiritual work is group work. But physical contact, especially with the Kabbalistic group, is very important. It’s the foundation of our spiritual work. There is something very special about being in one place, listening to the same thing, breathing the same air, etc. It seems trivial, especially in the post pandemic era, but it’s still a very important part of forming that spiritual connection in the group. This is why we have a few Kabbalah conventions throughout the year, to help us all come together physically once in a while. And the rest of the year, most of the work is done virtually, and that’s perfectly fine.
By the way, there is a KabU retreat happening next week in upstate New York. If you’re able to participate there, it’s highly recommended.

Albert – KabU InstructorModeratorHi Mel,
We are a world wide group. We have students and groups in most countries, including Australia. Each country has its own time zone challenges, but it’s not a barrier that can’t be overcome.
As for the means for connection, right now most of the connection happens through the Q&A forums and live sessions. In the more advanced semesters in KabU, everyone will receive their own virtual Kabbalah group with whom you can put all these things into practice. And after finishing the graduate semester of KabU, there is also the option to join a local KabU group in your area, if that’s what you want.

Albert – KabU InstructorModeratorHi Ilya,
Yes, crossing the barrier and revealing the Creator is the same. And yes, 1% similarity comes with 1% revelation. Although spirituality is a state of wholeness, so even at 1% similarity you still reveal all of it, but to a smaller degree. It’s like the difference between feeling the world as a baby and feeling the world as an adult. The baby is alive in the same world as the adult but feels it to a much smaller degree.
