If one of my friends asks me about Kabbalah then what do I do?  Seems like some of the advice is not to say anything and hand them a book.  Can we not give a basic explanation?  Seems like we should try not to talk about it and just send a link to a video or something.

        Hey Todd,

As a beginner it’s recommended not to give more than one or two sentences. The best practice is to point them in direction of other sources we have whether that’s video clips or other reading material. It’s just a common mistake we all have to learn from. It takes a while to absorb all the concepts in a way that we can repackage them in explanation and each explanation would need to be according to the audience. Most of the time it never comes out right. It’s just a matter of experience but we all at some point will push others away from the wisdom due to our inability to judge the situation correctly and offer a suitable explanation. Don’t forget in almost every situation, you won’t be turning someone on to the wisdom. You’ll just be offering a short explanation to what it is and that is usually sufficient in those situations. If they have a desire to know more, they’ll pursue.

        Thanks,

        Chris

      Why do we study TES?

      • #326919

        Hey mrc,

This is in order to familiarize ourselves with the upper system and to draw the light that reforms if studies with the right intention.

Is the light that kabbalah talks about the root and the light that physics talks about the branch?

      • #326917

        Hey Todd,

The electromagnetic spectrum is still physical, while Kabbalists refer to the force which has no physical properties. The root however might very well come from that source which gives life to everything in our reality.

My body is sinful,  but how about material objects, there is a teaching that says that religion debase physical things and we should embrace/honor it as equal opposite of Spirituality..?

      • #326916

        Hey mrc,

Spiritual development has nothing to do with physical or material objects being more or less important, meaning a person squandering that desire will not being them closer to spiritual desire. The approach should always only be to increase desire for bestowal.

Hello, Im a student who is just starting Kabbalah Reveal Part 2 and had a question about events in life. Ive just been recently separated from my family, it seems like my kids and partner did a total 180 flip on me and things just seem to get worse as we dont talk to each other either. I had been searching for this information and had been depressed that my partner could teach it to me but she did not which made matters worse. Now that I have separated from them I was able to find Kabu and enroll. According to many of the videos I watch This is all Havaya which Ive started noticing as I look at all the events that have happened that seem strange. Ive known for a long time Ive Ignored Him when he was obviously there but now that Im acknowledging and learning I’m nothing without Him the more awful events seem to happen due to me not being in equivalence of form

Is the pain I feel and the constant things my family is doing to push me away also Havaya trying to show me light and to use these events as a path to proper ascent by going through descent?

Or am I just trying to cope? Thanks in advance

        Hey Michael,

Sorry to hear about these difficult times. I know that cannot be easy, but as we learn here, and as I’m sure you’re familiar with by now, all of it is aimed at bringing you closer. We won’t understand why it had to happen certain ways until later, but there is no doubt the direction is always “towards Him.” If it was revealed to us before we were able to make corrections on our own, then there would be no correction and all would be “within reason” called ego. Our goal is to rise above reason and enter into equivalence of form, as you mentioned. The path to this is always against our reason, otherwise there is no path.

Agreeing with His providence is never possible within the ego. You’ve found the path that will bring you to be able to justify bestowal and rise to that level. We’ll get there together.

        Best of luck,

        Chris

We study pticha to increase our desire for spirituality,  what are the other reasons?

        Hey Todd,

Right, it also lays down the principles and basic structures you need to be familiar with before you begin studying TES.

        Chris
