ParticipantQuestion 1
It has been established that Kaballah is not mysticism but rather a measurable science, a science hidden from our five senses. Does this mean that developing a sixth sense or sensitivity to one’s higher self / holy spirit / third eye / divine consciousness is the point of Kaballah?
Question 2
Were most/all of the founding Kabbalist’s Zionists? if yes, please clarify the term Zionist.
Question 3
Is it a coincidence that two words sacred to Muslims are contained in the word Kaballah, namely, Kaba and Allah?

ModeratorHi Leyah, great questions!
1. The point of Kabbalah is to correct our egoistic nature. As a result of this correction we become similar to the Creator, to the general force of love and bestowal. As a result of becoming similar to Him, we reveal Him in practice, in our lives. All of this follows the law of equivalence of form.
Check out this blog post from Rav Laitman for more details: https://laitman.com/2011/06/kabbalah-without-a-trace-of-mysticism/
2. There is no such term as founding Kabbalists. The first Kabbalist was Adam, almost 6000 years ago. He was the first one to actualize this method. His name gives us a hint at this since Adam comes from the Hebrew word “Dome”, meaning “similar to”. He was not the first one alive, but rather the first one to reveal the Creator by becoming similar to this quality of bestowal.
3. Kabbalah is not referring to Kaba or Allah. Kabbalah is Hebrew for reception. Our nature is founded on the desire to receive. But this nature by itself is flawed. The more we receive, the more we cancel our desire, and the less pleasure we actually feel.
It’s like the example with eating: I’m hungry so I eat. I eat a little, I feel a lot of pleasure. The more I eat, the more I cancel my hunger and feel less and less pleasure from eating, until I reach a point that not only do I stop receiving pleasure from eating, but if I continue, I would even feel pain and start throwing up.
It’s similar with all of our desires. Kabbalah helps us to correct our desires to receive, so through them we can receive higher forms of pleasures, those that come from being similar to the Creator. This is why it’s called Kabbalah (reception), it’s the science of reception.

ParticipantWhen I watch this teaching with total relaxed focus and confidence that the words are true, my mind seems to lift and I know in my heart that this information is total truth. It feels like the truest words ever spoken being carved into my psyche. I feel deep peace and clarity of mind and am feeling more engaged at my work as a therapist. What is happening to me when this occurs?

ModeratorHi Zachary,
I cannot comment on your personal state, but in general, all of the changes we undergo in this wisdom are due to the reforming light. Essentially our work boils down to extracting more and more of this light, especially during the Kabbalistic studies, and it does all the rest.

ModeratorHi Pablo,
Kabbalah actually started with Adam close to 6000 years ago. The reason why we sometimes attribute it to Abraham is because Abraham was a major milestone in the Wisdom of Kabbalah who turned it into a practical method.

ParticipantIn one of the videos I’ve watched, it was said that Adam Harishon was the first soul, and that his soul fragmented into all of the current souls. If I understand correctly, there will eventually be a reuniting of the souls, resulting in that complete soul of Adam Harishon. IF this simplified description is correct– when that unification happens, could that be what is commonly referred to as the Messiah? Thanks.

ModeratorHi Patti,
The soul of Adam HaRishon is the common system to which we all belong. It’s like we’re all cells within a singular body. In order to help this body develop to a higher degree, the ego was introduced into this system which caused the connections between all the cells to become shattered. In order to correct that ego, we need a special force. We call that force the Messiah (Moshiach in Hebrew). The word Moshiach comes from the word to pull (Moshech in Hebrew). This is the force that has the ability to pull us out of our egoistic nature, back into that connection that we once had.

ParticipantHi there! Why 125 steps to reestablish the conexion to the upper force? How do we know in which step (if any) we are?
Best regards, Carlos

ModeratorHi Carlos,
The number 125 comes from the structure of the upper worlds. This structure is just a division of the spiritual desire that we need to correct into sefirot, partzufim, and worlds.
The most basic division of the desire is 1 Sefira. 5 Sefirot compose 1 partzuf. 5 Partzufim compose 1 world. There are 5 worlds in total. So 5 worlds each with 5 partzufim each with 5 sefirot equals 125 (5x5x5) steps on the spiritual ladder, or in other words corrections that need to be performed on the desire.
In the book Kabbalah for the Student, there’s an article called Foreword to the Preface to the Wisdom of Kabbalah (http://www.kabbalah.info/eng/content/view/full/64187) which lists these 125 steps in the language of sefirot/partzufim/olamot(worlds). For now, these are just technical terms for us, but in the future lessons we’ll dive deeper into these things and learn how to feel and experience them.
In simpler words, the 125 steps represents the difference between us and the Creator. The Creator is a desire to bestow and we are the desire to receive. Adapting our desire to receive to work in order to bestow takes 125 steps. So to the extent that we correct our nature, make it similar to the Creator’s nature, to that extent we’re “climbing” this ladder.
In other words, ascending or descending this ladder is not a physical action, but rather depends on how much we’re similar to the Creator’s quality of bestowal (ascending) or less similar to it and more egoistic (descending).
All of this operates according to the law of equivalence of form. Check out this blog post from Rav Laitman for more details: https://laitman.com/2013/04/everything-is-attained-by-the-equivalence-of-form/
As for us, we’re not yet on any spiritual degree, we’re still in the preparation period prior to the spiritual ladder. But once we start to do real spiritual work, we can measure our progress in our attitude towards other points in the hearts. That I’ll feel how my attitude towards them changes, from complete indifference, all the way until I feel them as pieces of my soul. We’ll learn more about this in the more advanced lessons.
