When we live in this world, when we receive something with the intention to give the Creator fulfillment, so we still receive Light like before during the 4 phases of pre-material world?

Does the spiritual study / our connection to the Light, eventually bring fulfillment in the material world level?

        Hi Sarah,

        1. Not quiet. The initial four phases are called the four phases of DIRECT LIGHT because they are attributed to the light. Meaning that it’s the Creator doing all the work there. We’re not active in that process but rather are like clay in the hands of the craftsman.

Now on the other hand, we need to be active in our development. And because we are actively participating now, the light that we’ll receive will be felt much stronger than before.

        2. Spiritual fulfillment is felt outside of our egoistic nature. It’s within a completely different quality, that of love and bestowal. Meaning that within our egoistic nature, we can never find true fulfillment. Only when we correct our ego and start focusing outside of ourselves, will we discover spiritual fulfillment.

It’s like I’m a cell within a whole body. As a cell, how much fulfillment can I possibly experience? But when I focus outside of myself, on being a healthy cell that serves the whole body, I begin to feel the fulfillment of the whole body.

I love contemplating art, I am also creating. It brings me also joy to watch my own creations. I look at it as if it wasn’t mine. I am begining to feel what „outside” means. Is the connection with the upper light, when I am aware of that something exists in the space between us, friends? Are we learning to tune to this what is beteen us? It  hits me, when I hear from Gilad, that everything outside us is pure love and goodness.

One of the slides says: “Why are we unable to reach spirituality without following the advice of kabbalists?” (and a few others also mention the need to learn from kabbalists.)

My question is this: If we are unable to reach spirituality without following the advice of kabbalists, how did the very first kabbalist reach spirituality without other kabbalists to teach him?

So, like the still, vegetative, and animate forms in nature move and shift to find balance (equivalence of form) in the physical world, humans are learning to do this in the spiritual world. Through feelings, thoughts, and intentions, we seek equivalence of form on the human level. This may be oversimplifying, but is it the right understanding to say that what we are trying to do is to be filled with pleasure by increasing our desire to know the thought of the Creator?

So as I seek to be a vessel for the Creator and fulfill my purpose as the Creature, I am loving my friend as myself? It certainly feels as though I experience more and more a life of just the Creature and the Creator ❤️

        Hi Rae,

Yes, “love your friend as yourself” is a great all encompassing rule of our spiritual work. It is essentially the path through which we come into contact with the Creator.

Keep in mind that when Kabbalists use the word “friend” they are not referring to our corporeal buddies.  A friend, in the spiritual sense of the word, is someone that is close to me spiritually, someone that shares the same spiritual goal as me. In other words, a friend is someone with an active point in the heart that is together with me on the spiritual path. This is why the spiritual work of “love your friend as yourself” is primarily carried out in a Kabbalistic group.

As for the rest of the world, we should remember that “there is no coercion in spirituality” and do our best not to force anyone into doing this type of spiritual work. So when we are outside of the Kabbalistic group, the best thing to do is to act normal, just like everyone else.

We’ll learn more about this in the more advanced lessons.

How do we uplift ourselves into high states of emotions, from depression to enlightenment. Also, how can we improve our consciousness as well, putting our dream states into reality?

        Hi Kai,

The trick is to focus outside of ourselves, on helping others to do that. If we can help uplift others, we ourselves will also be uplifted. This is why Kabbalists have always studied in Kabbalistic groups. We’ll learn more about these things in the advanced semesters on KabU where everyone will receive their own Kabbalah group with whom you can put these things into practice.
