Why is it difficult for us to notice the way in which our environment influences us?

We tend to be blinded by our ego.

It is difficult to notice because the influence of our environment works quietly, underneath our awareness. Our daily lives are shaped by the people, culture, and conditions around us, but since these changes happen little by little, they feel like they come from us alone.

The ego is the driving force in our lives, so it makes us believe our thoughts and choices are fully independent. That can hide the fact that many of our attitudes and actions are actually being formed by the surroundings we live in.

We think we are choosing everything by ourselves, but the environment is also guiding us in the background.

Our daily lives are subtly and subconsciously impacted by the “psychosocial effects of our culture”, which can cause us to underestimate the influence our surroundings have on our attitudes and actions. Beneath awareness, our ego-driven mindset can trick us into believing the decisions we make are independent, which can make fostering constructive social relationships difficult.

It’s a vested self-interest seeking instant gratification. We are not thinking for the best suited collective yet.

waar we wonen, met welke mensen we contact hebben,  ons beroep, hobby’s  leefmilieu het beinvloedt ons meer dan we denken. We lopen mee in het gareel van de opvoeding, van wat men van ons verwacht. En toch  leerde ik dat alles vanuit de hogere wereld is voorzien, de dingen gebeuren zoals onze Creator het wil
