BrendanParticipantI totally agree with Tim, and I wish I had more opportunities for collaborative discussions in my regular working life. Most things end up being the opposite. I pray that I can change that culture and apply this more in my daily life.

BrendanParticipantYes, definitely, loneliness is a killer. The older you get, the more difficult it becomes to relate to others around you as well.
June 16, 2026 at 11:46 pm EDT in reply to: What makes it so difficult for us to agree with the results of the research on pro-social spending that was presented in the lesson? #503116
BrendanParticipantOur ego makes us want to think for ourselves only, it blinds us to the non-biased truth. We mostly choose to believe or support what is wrong as long as it is convenient for us, instead of challenging our egos.
June 12, 2025 at 7:30 pm EDT in reply to: What do you think was the result of the “Ignored Condition” in Dan Ariely’s research and why? #442145
BrendanParticipantI think they wanted more money than the rest, and would have stopped working earlier, because their ego will not allow them to be ignored. They will have fights with their bodies over the lack of benefit (in this case honor or recognition)

BrendanParticipantTheir egos make them want to act superior to others
