Hi Gianni,
My understanding is that the ego is the matter and the condition which forms the basis of my existence. But the fact is that I have the freedom to choose how to use my ego based on an intention to bestow or to receive for personal benefit. This suggests I am not my ego. My ego is simply the only faculty I have at my disposal through which I can fulfil my intention. This suggests to me that my true essence is anything but my ego. So, my question is who or what am I? Who or what is the true ‘I’ who has the freedom to determine the way in which his faculties ought to be used?
Thank you.

What is the Son of Man? What does this phrase mean?
N/aParticipantI learned to appreciate the value of being a member of my own ‘minyan‘, but I am also grappling with the dilemma that I remain a part of the external world and that I need to be able to connect with everyone, not just with Kabbalists. My sincere hope is that joining the Graduate Environment would teach me how receive in order to bestow so that I can apply all I learned from my studies of Kabbalah not only with my connections with other Kabbalists, but also with those in my broader community.
N/aParticipantThere simply would not be any dilemmas in society through the spiritual principle of love given people would look to satisfy their basic requirements by giving to the community through faith in each other. The main tenet becomes centered on what ‘I’ can do for my community as a means of satisfying one’s own basic needs.
The issue we face in life is that we want too much for ourselves without fully understanding why, and we do not have faith in each other, most likely because we do not have faith in ourselves. Life itself would most likely continue to push us into balance with its altruistic nature at a great cost to humanity if we do not take the initiative ourselves. The dissemination of the wisdom of Kabbalah to the world is one avenue for much-needed change in our paradigm of thinking only about ourselves and to keep the pain and suffering to a minimum as we undergo this inevitable transformation towards altruism.

I was hoping to join the virtual congress this year, but I’m afraid that it would require a full day commitment for three whole days. I own my own business and I really haven’t the ability to take one day off work, let alone three days. What are my options please?
Thank you!
