Seth – KabU InstructorModeratorMassimo,
The prayer book, generally called the siddur from the word “order” was arranged by kabbalists after the destruction of the second temple in Jerusalem. There would be no more worship in the Temple, no more animal sacrifices, songs in the temple, incense offerings, etc, it was all replaced with the order of the prayers.
You can read all of these prayers and not accomplish anything spiritual.
You can also say some words from the bottom of your heart that can shake all the worlds.
In short, the true prayer is what comes from the bottom of your heart. In the meantime, you can open the siddur or psalms and read those, they can help organize your inner life.
Regarding Shabbat as well, and your questions in general, you have found here a school of authentic kabbalah study. Here you will learn about the structure of reality, the meaning of life, the unified power of the universe, our relationship to it and more.
After you graduate from KabU you will have the opportunity to join with the other students of our teacher the kabbalist Rav Laitman. We have daily lessons together (3am Israel time), broadcasted live and simultaneously translated to a dozen languages. Keeping any religious traditions and customs is up to each person or group depending on their own customs according to their background, etc.

Seth – KabU InstructorModeratorPeter,
I’m very happy to receive your question.
You are going through many states quickly and it is clear to you what is happening, even as you feel confused.
Imagine you will be a great surgeon or a great athlete, but today you are 5 years old and it’s your first day of school or first day kicking the ball around. The good future is guaranteed, but today there is much confusion.
Here is some advice to try for the next month.
Keep a journal and write about how it goes.
I look forward to hearing about your results. We already learned about the Still, Vegetative, Animate and Speaking degrees.
When it comes to your SV&A desires, live as a normal person in the world. Go to work, eat well, exercise, take care of your family.
Simultaneously you are having a secret love affair with the Creator. In your free time you read, you study, you watch the videos, go through the lesson materials. But don’t try to apply everything you are learning in your spiritual work at your workplace and in the kitchen, etc. It will be way too confusing.
As you develop your spiritual life and in your internal world begin to stabilize the forms that the kabbalists give us in their books, the Peter who goes to work and cooks dinner will start to have a different inner life that already has a better “wifi” connection to the Creator and your SV&A desires will ascend with you.
Slowly slowly. We can’t skip any steps.
Take the time to go through these exercises.
Good luck,

Seth – KabU InstructorModeratorMaria,
Yes you are correct.
The only thing that comes from the Creator is bestowal.
All of creation is the opposite force, reception. Creation is discerned according to four degrees of desire, inanimate, vegetative, animate and speaking. All of them different and more intense degrees of reception.
In order to enter spirituality, we need to be more like the Creator, which is the quality to bestow.
However, we are a desire to receive and we will remain a desire to receive, as this is the matter of creation that the Creator created. What we have the opportunity to do is to change our inner direction from reception to bestowal.
As a simple example, imagine that you make a holiday meal for your children. So you are serving them, but through this giving, you are receiving, you receive pleasure from giving.
So we can see that it is not about whether the hands give or take, it is about the inner attitude.
This is what we will learn more about, where is that intention inside of us and how do we work with it in order to receive from the Creator, which we must, as this is how He made us, but to receive not for ourselves as a tiny little spec in all of reality, but to receive in order to bestow, to be connected to Him and everyone, everything.

Seth – KabU InstructorModeratorAdelina,
The four phases of direct light are the template that all of reality is built from. After these four phases there are many more processes and operations that we will learn about, the building of the partzufim, the worlds and then the souls.
At the end of all of that cascading from above to below begins the procession from below to above, starting with the formation of matter (everything until now happened in the spiritual worlds until matter was formed at the end of the cascading). Then matter develops according to what we can already measure in normal science from the inanimate degree which took billions of years to the vegetative degree, to the animate degree and finally to the speaking/human degree. And then from within the speaking degree, within the “humans” there is the development of our inanimate desires, our vegetative desires, our animate desires and finally our spiritual desires. When that initial point of the spiritual desire awakens enough, we find the wisdom of kabbalah.
From there, after a preparation period owe ascend up the spiritual degrees according to the very same steps that the light took on its descent.

Seth – KabU InstructorModeratorHooman,
You are asking the perfect question and the discernments and clarifications that you are going through in your mind are very accurate.
Imagine that you are in an airplane and you are flying at 1000km/hour or 700 miles/hour. You look outside the window and there are no trees, no cars, nothing to determine your speed. You cannot tell if you are going slow, fast, there is nothing to measure against.
Now imagine you are driving in a car through town, you pass the school, the coffeeshop, you see these things pass by slowly, then you go to the highway and you go very fast and the trees are passing quickly, the cars are passing quickly, the ground below is passing quickly.
Now you can feel your speed.
Our will to receive always accompanies us to the end of our corrections.
It is from this (-) force that we can sense how to draw a corresponding (+) force.
We will learn a lot more about how to work with it.
You are moving in the correct direction!
