We work on it and pray to have a correct intention. We plant ourselves in the spiritual environment that advertises to me the value of the correct intention and we read the kabbalistic texts.
All of these things draw lights to us that actually perform the corrections.

We need to come to desire the Creator.
That’s the whole game.
To desire the Creator, to desire love is opposite from our ego that only desires to be filled for himself.
So it is precisely through working with the ego that finally, finally come to the realization that we cannot escape it and then a new, true desire for the Creator emerges from our hearts, when we realize that we are helpless with our own powers to reach the spiritual degrees.

The Creator has no up or down, in or out, male or female, the Creator contains everything in a whole, integral, eternal way. All of the definitions and determinations are on from the side of the creation. The Light never changes.
The giving bestowing force is called male and the receiving force is called female.

100% that is how it works. You receive a new portion of light and the vessel expands. The new vessel is empty and it feels dark, it feel dark because there is no attainment on that level yet. Like telling a child to eat broccoli instead of ice cream, he has no way to see the benefit, but we start to understand what is happening, to reach spirituality, we don’t do it with our hands and feet, we do it with faith above reason, not blind faith, no way. We have reason and then above that reason, we know it feels dark in our reason and we nevertheless adhere to Him, and then we rise to the new degree. This gives us the opportunity to act not out of receiving reward, but to begin to free ourselves from the chains of the ego.

I don’t know, there are many things involved here. Could be related to his environment, to the larger society he is in.
