      What does the following mean:

When we use our will to receive in order to give joy to the Creator, we have attained the quality of bestowal.

Isn’t the will to receive all there is essential to the creature? If so, how can one even perceive the quality of bestowal if not through ego? But isn’t it that egoistic desires never lead to the will to bestow, namely to give joy to the Creator? So, how do we get to the point to perceive the desire to give as a quality to please the Creator if not through ego? And if it is through ego, how do we ever go beyond it in order to become as the Creator?

        Daniela,
You are asking all of the correct questions.  The questions are more important than the answers because your questions mean that inside you are feeling where the next move needs to be, that means you have correct inner preparation.
You’re right, we are essentially the will to receive so we have to go through many degrees to be able to bestow.
We are in the preparation to a state called Lo Lishma.  In Lo Lishma one does everything as if he is bestowing even though he has not been given from above the true power to bestow.
And then from Lo Lishma when a certain measure of effort has been made, a light is drawn down upon a person that raises him above the barrier (inner barrier) of his ego and he acquires a second nature, this is called the Exodus from Egypt in our inner work.
We go in depth into all of these states.
I recommend that you write your questions down and return to them in 1 year and in 2 years and see how the questions have developed and how you have new insights and advancement.

No questions. I highly encourage others to purchase the books in their hardcopy formats because electricity isn’t guaranteed. The book, Kabbalah for the Student, is a must have. 860 pages of well written material with several diagrams at the end of it.

“A person bears no responsibility for external or internal actions, including our doubts and descents.”

Please explain this. It seems quite contradictory. How do we draw close to God/Creator if there’s nothing required? Please explain.

        MsNandi,
Please paste the entire paragraph and the link to where this comes from so I can answer it within the context of the lesson.

What should be our actions or steps to take at a times when we get filled with doubts and having alot of challenges that tries to drag us away from having strong desire to connect to our creator

      • #482609

        Fredrick,

We have desires on all lower degrees that renew themselves naturally. We have a natural desire to take the next breath, no one needs to remind you.  Desires for food, sex, money, all of these renew naturally.
However when we come to the true spiritual desire, for something not of this world, something eternal, when our soul awakens, to develop it specifically requires connection to the other broken pieces of the soul. The Upper Light dwells in the corrected vessel from those shattered pieces.
As we advance correctly we feel again and again increasingly empty, disconnected or simply uninterested – now consider each of these states that we are collecting uncorrected places and transferring them to the side of holiness, like collecting fruits from the orchard, each of these states if used correctly are steps on the path to reconnecting the shattered soul, leading us to connect again and again with the others on the path with us, to support each other, hold each other up, inspire each other, as the Psalmist says we awaken the dawn, the dawn does not awaken us,

Good luck and I hope to hear soon about your success,

        Seth@KabU

My question may have trigger warning as it relates to crimes against humanity as we are reminded of the Epstein global cabal of pedophilic parasite billionaire class in recent news.

I would like to understand how these  heinous acts against babies children girls and women are the work of the Creator? Yes it is a stark contrast between right and wrong but what justification does Kabbalah provide to explain the suffering and death that has ensued from not only this wave of greed and self important indulgence but all such waves in human history?

        Ellema,

First things first, this is not a question that can be answered in its full depth in a forum. An answer for a question like this takes years because an answer to this question doesn’t enter the ear, all real answers in Kabbalah don’t enter through the ear.

If you want to be a surgeon it takes many years, if we want to be a craftsmam of the soul it also takes time.

If we want to measure the distance between one side of the room and the other, we use a tape measure, if we want to measure the distance from New York to Paris we can open Google Maps out in the two points and click Measure Distance.

But with what tool can we measure the distance from our current state to a whole, eternal, integral, harmonious reality?  That is our feelings. When you observe the four degrees of reality: inanimate, vegetative, animal and human, at each degree the emotional vocabulary has more complex flavors.

There is no dog or chimpanzee that is sitting and asking himself about the meaning of his life.

How many years and what conditions does it take for dust and water to mix and burn and freeze and rust and sprout until it develops into a conscious creature who will turn to the sky and shout, “why?!?!”?

King David (the author of Psalms) wrote about this reality that we are all as dreamers.

When we reach the spiritual reality we will wake from this reality and it will have all felt like a dream, all to bring us to the feelings of a correct need.

Over the next few weeks think about your question and this answer and let’s keep refining it until “one’s soul will teach them”.

Seth I interpret your reply in the context of what we learned in semester 1 – the Epstein example is the path of pain that ultimately leads to correction as does the path of light. This is true because the law of equivalence is absolute. We see evidence of this truth in the four stages of development. At first it appears beyond reason until it is viewed from this perspective. Although I may not like the answer I do accept it and see the beauty in it.
