I am finally starting to understand that none of the things that happened to me were random and out of no where. Looking back, I am starting to realize messages that were hidden behind all the “good” and “bad” that has happened to me since I became aware of them. I am starting to understand my purpose in life and how I can help the world by correcting myself from inside out.

‘In what way have I gained a deeper understanding of my life and of the forces working in the world?’ I have gained a deeper insight into Maslow’s  theory  expounded in his 40’s hierarchy of needs. Kabbalah was there long before Maslow and explained in every-day terms  how our needs progress from basic physiological needs to more or greater psychological ones. I feel the concept of ‘needs’ is rather that of ‘wants’. Having satisfied the basic physiological ‘wants’ we want more of what we already have i.e. what could be interpreted as wealth which answers what Maslow saw as safety, which equates to security. Being human we want to love and be loved which having been attained adds to our sense of security. Having acquired all the above the desire to control and protect it becomes apparent, for which we need power. Power Maslow sees as esteem. To understand, maintain and control all the foregoing we need, or want the know-how how to do so – knowledge. This drives us to go beyond ‘the box’ and in doing so come to what Maslow saw as self-actualisation. From the above I have realised that  it is the forces of Nature that have driven each step of our journey through this phase of our life and will ultimately lead us into the spiritual realm.

That there is a plan and up until now I did not understand this.  And we will all reach the creator eventually but the speed in which we do will depend on our intentions and our awareness of our outer world.

At this point, my understanding is that the purpose of my life is to return to the root.  To live a life in such a way that will return me to my source, my Creator.

I’ve come to understand that the way I approach my life (intention) affects the world around me and that I need to change the way my desire to receive manifests itself.   At this point, for me, it has been a focus on growing beyond the base desire to receive and being more aligned with “what’s in it for me, or what do I want” to finding pleasure in seeing others receive and in giving to others.   While it is still not an altruistic approach, and egotistical in nature, I think it is a more elevated form of the selfish desire to receive that defines us.

I understand that I don’t have much free will and that I was choosing the “path of suffering” and with the study of the wisdom of Kabbalah, I can work towards choosing the “path of light
