Preparation Question: Our entire work in Kabbalah is only to attract the light that reforms. By this we receive everything we need for our advancement. Furthermore, I’m told that if I will help the others, I will advance myself even more towards spirituality. How does this work? What does it mean to help the others, those with the point in the heart, on the spiritual path?

As I help others advance on their spiritual path, I am living “love they friend as thyself” and joining with the essence of the other. This action connects us at the point of the heart and the Light that Reforms is attracted. It grows between us exponentially. In this way, we can both advance up the spiritual ladder together and more quickly. ”A rising tide lifts all boats.”

What I picked up from this lesson is that in Kabbalah, the idea of helping others is deeply intertwined with the concept of love and unity.  When helping others, especially those with a point in the heart, I am essentially elevating the group and because of this I too expand my point in the heart.  It’s like creating a mutual connection between me and the other group members to receive Spiritual nourishment. By assisting others, I’m also refining my own qualities, overcoming ego, and becoming more connected to the Creator.  It’s a beautiful cycle of giving and receiving that accelerates Spiritual growth.

It’s like in boot camp you need to rely on your fellow troops to get over the wall. Some can make it to the top, but others stay at the bottom so top of wall and bottom of wall helper the weaker get up the wall and then the top helps the bottom by pulling them up so everyone succeeds as a team.

We are one, the only way to find our essence is to see it in others and love them as ourselves.

Through my connection to other points in the heart, a special group can help me achieve the ultimate connection to the Creator, as a group our “points in the heart” can become a collective, helping fulfil the desires of the group in an altruistic way, it also helps to identify my egotistical tendencies and how to correct it.
