Loving and helping others is a way to love and help yourself by accepting the faults in others and therefore in yourself. Any new thought/input/ information is deeper assimilated when you transmit it. Therefore helping others is also helping yourself and, as a part of a system, the more advance and functional are the peaces, better the system all together.

Helping others on the spiritual path means supporting their desire to connect to the Light—their point in the heart. When I put their spiritual needs before my own ego-driven impulses, I become a channel for the Light that reforms. This giving intention aligns me with the very force that transforms us. In essence, the more I help others rise, the more I am lifted. Our advancement is bound together, because the Light flows through the connection between us—not through isolated effort.

To help others means to see them as yourself.  Since what I see outside of me is actually my extension,  by helping others( those with the point in the heart) advance I will also advance spiritually.

We are to love others as we love ourselves. In order to do this ,we need to spend time and energy learning what those needs are, we must be in a community where we can engage in active listening.

It also means to connect with them to actively listen and participate in groups.
