  • Hi Stephen,

Kabbalists say that nothing is made in vain, and that the Creator is the Good Who Does Good. A sound advice regarding your impressions is to not eat yourself up – since everything is coming from Him, the singular Upper Force governing us, it is best to take up any complaints or concerns with the “Craftsman who made me…”

The fact that you have been given a taste of this wisdom is already a tremendous sign for you. Whether you want to progress in these studies, under the proper conditions to develop spiritually, is your choice. You have an opportunity to take the good path, to discover the Source of your life, and achieve total connection with that Force.

    I wish you luck!

    Hi Steve,

As this continues your previous question, let’s expand a bit. Kabbalah helps a person change his internality from the quality of receiving for oneself to the Creator’s qualities of love and bestowal. Doing an external action like bringing homeless/less fortunate people food is a nice act in this world, but it has nothing to do with changing one’s nature. These changes can only happen under a correct influence that draws the Upper Light (or call it the Reforming Light).

    Hi Steve,

This is a fantastic question! Kabbalists give us a simple advice – be under the influence of an environment that will promote this change of desire/this aspiration towards bestowal. The more one is under this positive influence while engaging in an authentic methodology that specifically draws the Upper Light (the Light is really the factor that exacts the changes), one is able to change one’s desire to be in bestowal.

    Dear Lori,

Indeed, creating art and music that benefits humans can be a great thing! Some may be entirely satisfied with that; however, there are people who have an even deeper inclination into discovering the purpose of their lives. Kabbalists call this inclination the “point in the heart.”

As humanity develops, and the point in the heart becomes more of a focal point, we will see more art and music express that desire to be connected with the Creator. These forms of art and expression will aid in awakening a deeper desire and yearning to fulfill our purpose!

    Dear James,

Thank you for this question – it is quite robust and much appreciated!

That’s a fun and relatable scenario. Certainly the right step is to accept the situation and attribute it to the singular Upper Force that governs everything, but doing that internal attitude shift doesn’t relate to freedom of choice and choosing one’s environment. What you are referring to is more of a psychological shift.

When Kabbalists explain that our only free choice is in choosing the environment, they refer to choosing to be under the influence of  the spiritual environment.

Why is this the choice? Because only through this environment, and the means that fuel it (the Teacher, the Books, and the Group), can one draw the Upper Light that corrects oneself and brings one to equivalence of form with the Creator. The Group shows us a gap, but it shows us the gap of one’s current nature (will to receive for oneself), and the nature one will attain through drawing the Light (connection with the Creator in His qualities of bestowal and love).

Everything else in life is well defined for us. Our free choice is to choose to attain spirituality and make it more important than one’s corporeal life, and one does this by choosing the right environment that will give oneself the importance of spirituality.

    I hope this helps!

    Dear Tom,

The only way to change one’s intention is to be under the influence of the Upper Light. If one yearns to be more like the Creator (giving/loving) and is in the proper environment to increase this aspiration, then one can draw what the Kabbalists call the “Light that reforms.”

This Upper Light works on one and brings one closer to working truly for others and ultimately for the Creator.

    Best,

    Christian @KabU
