Gianni – KabU InstructorModeratorI don’t know how I missed this thread.
Saba ve Tvuna: It’s like “grandparents” – of course not speaking of our world, but in the order of cascading it has such a relationship towards the lower partzufim. That really clarifies nothing, but it’s an answer forr now.
MAD: Mayin Duchrin, Male Waters. It is essentially the answer to the MAD, which is the correct prayer that comes from a collective (not an individual) desire.
Mem-Bet – I can’t go into all these letters, it’ll be endless, and not useful for anyone’s advancement. Because we need to attain not even the first letter but the initial black point of the beginning of the first letter. That is the practical wisdom of Kabbalah. Then, when we’re born into the spiritual world we will develop our desire into the form of different letters and letter-combinations. And, yes, we can draw the Light, but we draw it best from what is close to us, a next step in our work, the texts that relate most closely to that.

Gianni – KabU InstructorModeratorShame is the root of everything practically. It’s true that because of the Shame that caused the realization of the oppositeness to the Upper Force, the desire to receive is willing to annul itself. And this annulment is required to begin using the desire in an opposite form, in the direction of bestowal. And without a complete stop that is truly as-if permanent, we can’t start going in the opposite direction.

Gianni – KabU InstructorModeratorI don’t know what you mean by “bestow below one”. Bina is the desire to bestow, and only to bestow. But there are desires below Tabur that want only to receive. However, they are willing to receive in any form possible. Meaning if I can bestow and by bestowing receive, then I’m willing to bestow. We see this in our world that a person is willing to give an object if through giving I receive something even more important than the pleasure of having the object. For example, I can give a million dollars if it will get my child into Harvard. But he doesn’t need Harvard for the money/career – we’re already fabulously wealthy. Why do wealthy people pay millions to bribe their children into Harvard? So that people will respect me, because my kid goes to Harvard. So, how much is that respect worth? Much more than those millions of dollars. So, it is not important how to receive. The will to receive doesn’t ask WHAT or HOW. It’s that what I will receive the most important thing to receive and in the greatest quantity and with the minimal giving possible, as any giving must be subtracted from my account of what I receive.

Gianni – KabU InstructorModeratorSorry I missed this, Joy.
Substance refers to the matter, and the matter is always the Desire, which is all that was created. Form refers to the form that the substance is in. Either it’s in a form of reception or bestowal. But either way, it’s still the desire.
The desire, as it descends through the worlds, acquires more Aviut (coarseness) and that is the Quality of the desire that changes, and gives it the different forms. Say you have on the animate level a lion, and on the vegetative level a dandelion (“coincidentally” named), and something else on the Still and Human levels. But it’s the same desire, only with more, or less Aviut.

Gianni – KabU InstructorModeratorThe Creator understands our complaints, and yet He does not change. He says that I need to change, and then I will see that everything He did was good. I stay the same though, and in fact my Will to Receive grows more and more, and so I’m more opposite to Him, and so I see a worse world. It’s a very tough standard, that I have to be the one to change rather than expecting Nature/the world/the Creator (it’s all the same) to change instead of me.
Now, to change, I need as you said the Reforming Light. I can draw it a bit from independent study because while I’m absorbing these materials, I’m changing. But once I’ve pretty well absorbed them, then the main way I can draw the Light is by interfacing with others who are on the same path. That’s why in the graduate program students get a group of “ten”. I want to affect myself, move my brain cells around and succeed – I can succeed, but I need to do all that which I imagine doing in a self-help kind of way, I need to do all that outwardly, towards something outside me, towards this group. That’s the way the Light is drawn.

Gianni – KabU InstructorModeratorTranslation: The number to remember is 620, which corresponds to the collective desire 620 times greater in quality than the created soul of Adam HaRishon. How is this expansion of quality manifested in the created world and in us?
Surely it doesn’t yet. After all, we are the broken parts of Adam HaRishon and no Light comes to us, because it’s a broken vessel into which no Light can stay. And that’s why we can only chase pleasure but never hold on to the pleasure. This vessel was broken so that when it becomes connected over the distances between us all, it will be 620x greater. It’s not because there are physical distances – that’s how we imagine it. But these perceived distances are representations of the internal distance between us. We have to skip over that distance by our internal inclination to connection with all the others.Â
