Jack Davidsen
ParticipantWe would all have the intention of achieving what is best, not only for ourselves, not only for me, or for me and my family, or for me and my country, but for everybody worldwide, including our surroundings, and ironically, this difference in our approach means we wouldn’t have to fear poverty, or fear being tyrannized and abused. We would not be at the start of WWlll.
I believe that we would see ourselves as a whole, and our differences in personality, abilities, preferences, our different traditions, and lifestyles, would not make us feel divided, they would instead make us feel enriched.
And even though things aren’t looking good for our poor earth right now, the fact that we are coming together here, at KabU/B’nei Baruch, gives me hope, and for that I am so very grateful to you all, my fellow students, and our instructors.
It may not show a whole lot because I do go through a lot these days, but you inspire me greatly and have done so every week, right from the start. And it’s only getting better.
Thank you for being you, everybody! 🙂
November 28, 2023 at 7:34 am EST in reply to: Preparation Question: Our entire work in Kabbalah is only to attract the light that reforms. By this we receive everything we need for our advancement. Furthermore, I’m told that if I will help the others, I will advance myself even more towards spirituality. How does this work? What does it mean to help the others, those with the point in the heart, on the spiritual path? #335992Jack Davidsen
ParticipantIt means to be there for the others, and to pray with them, and for them, for what they need when they need it. I will seek to put the others in my group before myself because that is how important I think our work together is. Of course, we do it for ourselves, we want to grow and get close to the Creator, but more importantly, we also do it because we want the best for the world, and that means we do it for the Creator, His wish is our wish, so how could we fail?
Knowing that my friends in the Ten (or Group, or Lab) have the same goal as I do, which is to grow the Point in the Heart and attain Equivalence of Form with the Creator, makes it possible for me to put them before myself. I can do this because this is how important it is to me. That may be egoistic, but I will use my ego to bestow good on my friends.
I will have to keep reminding myself that everybody else is here for the same thing that I am here for. Our egos will get triggered, so it is important to remember that what we want is about the Creator more than anything else.
PS. I still have trouble understanding the Free Choice thing because I truly cannot see how I could choose any differently than what I do. It’s something I will continue to work with, and I’m sure that I’ll understand, eventually. 🙂
November 22, 2023 at 8:56 am EST in reply to: Preparation Prompt: Considering our journey thus far, how can we fortify our connection with the illuminating force? How do we amplify its transformative influence? #335516Jack Davidsen
ParticipantEdit:
Julian, you ask: “From everything we’ve learned until now, what can we say about our work with the light that reforms?”
Are you referring to our work with the Light that Reforms now, that is after we have become students of Kabbalah? Or are you thinking about our work with the Reforming Light throughout all of our lives up until now, including our recent months of studying Kabbalah?
One thing I would point to is this: Now we have begun to work with the Reforming Light from a conscious perspective, whereas in the past we did also work with the Reforming Light, but we weren’t aware of it – at least not the way that we are becoming aware of, and beginning to consciously work with the Reforming Light, now.
So you might sum it up this way: The Reforming Light always works with you, but as students of Kabbalah we can work consciously with the Reforming Light, so now it is mutual, we work with the Reforming Light and the Reforming Light continues to work with us. At a personal level, it means we can achieve Equivalence of Form much, much faster than we might have ever thought possible.
The second part of your question: “By what means can we strengthen the influence of the reforming light?”
I will just put it very short this time: Books, Teacher, and Ten* (or a Lab**).
…………
* = A Ten is a group of people who work with Kabbalah together in “real-time”.
** = I still hear people in KabU’s videos use the term ‘Ten’. So I think perhaps the word ‘Lab’ refers to a group setting that we use before we find, or get introduced, to the group that we will work with consistently and in the long term. I think that this final group is what we call a Ten.

I’d argue that this puts us – and therefore the world – at an incredible advantage. At a personal level, it means we can achieve Equivalence of Form much, much faster than we might have ever thought possible.

November 19, 2023 at 11:11 am EST in reply to: Reflect: Write a revelation from the lesson that sparked your curiosity or revealed to you a fresh viewpoint. #335296Jack Davidsen
ParticipantWhen I watched video 2.1 and/or video 2.2, I began to realize what has been missing from all my attempts to do the right thing and help make the world a better, a good, world. This was always what I felt was what I wanted to do in life, but it never worked. Instead I got apposed at every turn, suspected and disbelieved, even accused of lying and of being evil.
What I was missing was that very fundamental and most crucial thing of all: A direct connection with the Creator, – It’s not that I didn’t believe in Him, certainly not. I always felt His presence and that He was guiding me towards “something”. But I never engaged Him directly because I felt I wasn’t ‘good enough’, I hadn’t achieved a spiritual level that justified me asking Him about anything, and certainly not asking Him to help me. So I just knew He was there, but struggled on my own.
Now I understand how important it is to engage with Him directly, and I know how to do so, and now I also know how to pray.
………
When I watched video 2.4, you (Julian) made me chuckle when you said (something like this) “You probably have, or will, ask yourselves: Isn’t the wish to become like Him the greatest example of Egoistic drive that one can think of?”
It made me chuckle because yes, of course I have thought of that. But the answer doesn’t change: We have to work with our Ego by correcting our intentions – and alternatively maintain our already corrected intentions – behind the ego-driven things that we do and aspire to do.
………
PS. I apologize for being late once again. This week I have been battling Covid, but I’m finally beginning to feel better. Thank you in advance for bearing with me.
November 13, 2023 at 4:26 pm EST in reply to: Preparation Prompt: What does transitioning from a self-centered perception of reality to one grounded in altruism entail? #334862Jack Davidsen
ParticipantTo shift from an egoistic perception to one based on bestowal is to put your ego to use in a constructive way that opens up a path of connection, the path that is necessary in order to realize the purpose of our whole existence, which of course means to obtain Equivalence of Form and the true experience which is that there is only Him and none else besides.
PS. I know that I sometimes express myself in a way that appears to be convoluted, and difficult to keep track of or understand. I am therefore grateful to be among fellow students who are so great at describing their thoughts very clearly and do so often even with very few words.
