KimParticipantI just experimented with this notion with my college students last week. Fortunately, I have a small class, and we already shared a professional and communal bond of mutual respect and care. We approached the problem of societal polarization, especially exacerbated by social media, head on. Our discussion was honest, direct, and tackled the really hard issues–but at all times it remained caring, loving, and thoughtful. At the end, we all learned from each other. Our personal bonds of friendship and trust increased, and we all went forward approaching this societal problem from a position of love and a desire to help and educate others, to be bridge-builders. It really does work.

KimParticipantHi, I’m Kim, and grateful to be here. As the Kabbalists would say, there are no accidents, it has taken lifetimes to get here, and there is nothing but the Infinite who has arranged for this, at our request, to make the return journey Home–quicker and easier now than ever before. I’m wishing you every blessing.
September 21, 2025 at 10:26 am EDT in reply to: Preparation Question: Our entire work in Kabbalah is only to attract the light that reforms. By this we receive everything we need for our advancement. Furthermore, I’m told that if I will help the others, I will advance myself even more towards spirituality. How does this work? What does it mean to help the others, those with the point in the heart, on the spiritual path? #454432
KimParticipantI think of this like this: suppose that I’m a drop of water. Next to me, another drop of water falls, and soon we come together and merge, making a larger drop together. Then another drop falls near us and merges with us, making our collective drop even bigger. Now imagine a billion trillion drops all merging until we are as big as the ocean. We are no longer individual drops. We have become a collective, a body of water, an ocean. Every kindness we express to another has an astonishingly big impact as it ripples out through the matrix that collects all of us. Start with one person, one drop, then add another, then another. As they also begin to do the same, it starts spreading multiplicatively, exponentially.

KimParticipantI grew up with the simple mantra of “Love your neighbor as yourself.” It made sense as a way or philosophy of life, particularly as a means of creating a cooperative society. I had no idea, however, how critical it is until after studying Kabbalah. I would never have imagined that it is the very means of returning to the Creator and healing this broken world. After this past class, I’ve rethought everything I do now. Every interaction with another person is now a chance to practice this, one more small way to enervate the matrix that connects all of us. The ripple effect of even one small act of kindness, selflessness, or charity is astonishing. Now, in this new class, I’m exciting to continue practicing and learning more. Kabbalah is such a gift, such a wondrous way to live life. As a group, everything that we’ve ever learned, practiced, and studied has brought us to this singular point. I am humbled, thankful, and privileged to be here.
September 14, 2025 at 6:34 am EDT in reply to: Preparation Prompt: Considering our journey thus far, how can we fortify our connection with the illuminating force? How do we amplify its transformative influence? #452556
KimParticipantWe start small with an intimate group of like-minded seekers, and then practice, practice, practice. And then we gradually widen our scope, all the while continuing to practice patience, love, and giving. The more we practice, the more we receive, and the more we receive, the more we give, and the more we give, the more we receive, and so on and so on, as each step strengthens our connection with the illuminating force.
