My best experience from the previous course was learning about how Kabbalists can create a positive change in the world through understanding the root of issues. It also reinforced the importance of working within a group in order to move beyond the egoistic desires and sense of separation. We are all in this together and unity is important.
I am hoping in this course to learn more about how students work together in order to grow in understanding and connection. I’ve learned a great deal so far, and look forward to learning more.
Mira BrooksParticipantThis course inspired me through discussing the more about the role that we actively play in the community and amongst ourselves. We are encouraged to work in the corporeal world and keep informed of issues of our world. We also understand the importance of spiritual development. It’s been helpful to emphasize that change can come when we get to the primary issue of working with altruism instead of egoism.
I have learned that I have a long way to progress, but I am hopeful and optimistic. It has been great to read the comments of my peers and learn many new things. My hope is that we feel empowered to learn, grow, and develop on this path.
August 17, 2021 at 11:03 pm EDT in reply to: Preparation Question: Imagine if people were connected according to the spiritual law of love. How would these many issues be approached differently? #59894Mira BrooksParticipantThey would be expressed in such an opposite way to how they are expressed now. There are those in the world working from immense ego and self-gratification that are causing problems that we experience in the physical plane. If we were connected by the spiritual law of love, we would value the wellbeing of others over gain to ourselves. We would feel our neighbor’s desires as our own. We wouldn’t strive to always get ahead at the expense of another, which is sometimes how society feels structured.
We would see vast changes in our natural environment. We would treat animals humanely and compassionately. We would recognize that there is more than enough natural riches in this world for no one to go hungry or live in despair. Maybe it is utopian but I believe that the spiritual law of love and an inner transformation can make great strides, since it works internally.
August 8, 2021 at 10:16 pm EDT in reply to: Preparation Question: Our entire work in Kabbalah is only to attract the light that reforms. By this we receive everything we need for our advancement. Furthermore, I’m told that if I will help the others, I will advance myself even more towards spirituality. How does this work? What does it mean to help the others, those with the point in the heart, on the spiritual path? #59294Mira BrooksParticipantThrough the power of bestowal and uplifting others, we can able to advance on the path of spirituality because we are practicing altruism. We give a little more than we take by uplifting our comrades on this quest of spiritual development. Those with points in the heart have spiritual desires which we can use to help nourish that point, until our desire to reach a greater degree of equivalence of form grows.
August 1, 2021 at 10:55 am EDT in reply to: Preparation Prompt: Considering our journey thus far, how can we fortify our connection with the illuminating force? How do we amplify its transformative influence? #58858Mira BrooksParticipantFrom what we have learned so far, our work with the light with reforms is ongoing and enhanced through both studies, working with a group, and a teacher. We can strengthen the influence of the light that reforms by connecting with a group of others with a desire for spirituality and by reading Kabbalistic texts.

I’ve been thinking about the point in humanity where recently spiritual desires have begun to emerge in the late nineties and how we are moving towards greater interconnection which will force us to eventually change. Through this, we will begin to understand our connection with others. We will all reach the stages of spiritual connection.
Is it inevitable that the change will come? If it is inevitable that change will come, do Kabbalists consider it important to speed up the process by disseminating information widely? It does sadden me to think of the path of suffering, thinking of so many that are affected. It is certainly a hope to have a peaceful and more unified world.
