Hello from Chicago,
I have been studying kabbalah for a while and want to learn Hebrew in the context of kabbalah.
Nancy ArnoldParticipantI am inspired by all of the people learning Kabbalah with me from around the world. It is truly multicultural and I love reading all of the responses from teachers and students. I learned to be more patient with others and myself. This is a journey not a destination. I will continue to learn and hopefully change/grow. I wish all of my fellow students fulfillment and growth in their spiritual development. I hope you also meet other people in your life willing to learn and grow.

I am trying to change and be more altruistic and bestowing pleasure but I seem to always fall back into the same old habits and bad emotions. How can I really change everything about my attitude and emotional state just through study and prayer?

I imagine prayer and studying Torah or Kabbalah will help us to get in touch with the upper force or G-d. Having relationships with other people can also help us get in touch with the upper force since the upper force resides in all of us.
Nancy ArnoldParticipantI think John Lennon said it well in his song, Imagine. I hope someday we can join the Creator and the world will live as one. I hope I’m not the only one. We all have the same desires for connection and love. I wish for all of us a connection to the Creator, an end to egoism and the ability to share the light or bestow light/love to others.

My mother rejected me and I was raised by my grandmother. I have never been loved in any meaningful way by other people. I have desires for love, friendship and marriage but I never felt loved ever. How can I continue to spiritual fulfillment without first getting my basic needs met?
