The Creator, the system only responds to our feelings. We know that our mouths can say one thing and we can feel something very different. It’s helpful because I can feel down and act happy and that causes those around me to be happy and then I become happy because they are happy.
So it’s feelings. We can be very rich in things and feel very empty in our feelings.
So the sounds out of your mouth can be expressed with words or with a cry, a moan. What the system responds to is our feelings. Are we those people who are despaired of being fulfilled by our egoistic natures and and if this prayer is not answered it is better of not to be alive, for what is the point of this endless emptiness and futility? Then we can come to a true prayer for the Creator, for the Life of Lives to fill us.

Each spiritual action is built of two parts love on top of hatred/separation.
There is no such thing as spiritual love without the prior feeling of hate/separation.
The separation is the revelation of the “place” and the new degree of love fills that place until all of reality that I now perceive as outside of me becomes the place for the dwelling of the Creator, of love.

A person who is advancing, the light will shine on him more and he will discover his true state, that he is an egoist, that he is incapable of bestowing. This is his first contact with the truth. There, in that place, with no powers of his own, a new desire is born in him, a true desire for the Creator. Before he still thought that he needed to make another effort or do something or that he could get some reward, but now he feels that only the Creator can save him.
Or, a person can escape the campaign.

“As if”. You can practice open heart surgery a lot by reading and doing simulations. When the chest is open and the beating heart is in your hand, you know that is different.
So for now, it is “as if”.

The masach, the screen that you are referring to is a spiritual organ. You have an eardrum and waves strike your eardrum and that is how you perceive sound. Sound does not travel into an empty hole on our head, the sound waves strike the eardrum.
Similarly the world is full of Light but we don’t have a screen (“eardrum”) for the spiritual light to strike so that we can perceive it.
Another example is sunlight, it travels millions of miles through space…so why is space dark between earth and the sun? Because we don’t see the light until it hits a screen, then we can perceive the light, before that, it is there for all of those millions of miles but we can’t see it.So we don’t have a button to push or a mantra to say to make the screen turn on. It is built over through our efforts in the study and in the Kabbalistic group to draw upon us the influence of the upper light which changes our nature slowly slowly from egoistic intentions to altruistic intentions. When our intention changes to be altruistic then we have a screen that is letting us feel the spiritual qualities.
