  • Amani,
    At least several years.

    Danny,
Hi. Our 5 senses extend from the 5 upper spiritual roots, sight from Hochma, hearing from Bina, etc.
The senses are doing what they are designed to do.
They are designed to give us a perception of one reality, let’s call it “malchut”.
We developed, a point in our heart awakened, which is the seed of the spiritual perception and we were guided to a place where we can receive some illumination from let’s say, “bina” and between these two opposites, we can build a perception of the spiritual, eternal reality.

We learned that before creation, everything was one simple light, no beginning, no end, even in all directions.  There is no perception there as everything is fulfilled completely.
Also on the other end in complete disconnection from the light, a creature only feels himself and nothing else.
But between these two we can bring the spiritual reality into focus.

    Paul,
We are in this world, in this earthly manner, in this very little ego and we see what is happening in our lives and between countries.  We are being shown where we are, far from each other, reluctant to connect, it’s hard for us to even think about it, I prefer all other kinds of things to do than thinking about connection with others and I’m waiting for something to change and it doesn’t.
We see how incapable we are.
This brings us to a new desire, for some help to come, something that we are incapable of.  something that is above our nature.
this only comes after we have tried many things.  If we didn’t try many things, then the reason can still come and say, there is more to do.  But when we did all that came to our hand to do and still we did not attain it, then we have a new need.
This new degree is called “above reason” “lemaala mehadaat”.
To perceive above reason means that one has built a spiritual construction in his in his insides
Through doing all kinds of efforts in the spiritual group according to what they study together in the books of the sages, they make some masach on which to feel the Creator.  It is called attainment.
The purpose of the wisdom of kabbalah is not to know the quotes, but to make contact with the Creator.
So, this is what we are engaging in.
    Happy you are here,

    Massimo,
The prayer book, generally called the siddur from the word “order” was arranged by kabbalists after the destruction of the second temple in Jerusalem.  There would be no more worship in the Temple, no more animal sacrifices, songs in the temple, incense offerings, etc, it was all replaced with the order of the prayers.
You can read all of these prayers and not accomplish anything spiritual.
You can also say some words from the bottom of your heart that can shake all the worlds.
In short, the true prayer is what comes from the bottom of your heart.  In the meantime, you can open the siddur or psalms and read those, they can help organize your inner life.
Regarding Shabbat as well, and your questions in general, you have found here a school of authentic kabbalah study.  Here you will learn about the structure of reality, the meaning of life, the unified power of the universe, our relationship to it and more.
After you graduate from KabU you will have the opportunity to join with the other students of our teacher the kabbalist Rav Laitman.  We have daily lessons together (3am Israel time), broadcasted live and simultaneously translated to a dozen languages.  Keeping any religious traditions and customs is up to each person or group depending on their own customs according to their background, etc.

    Peter,
I’m very happy to receive your question.
You are going through many states quickly and it is clear to you what is happening, even as you feel confused.
Imagine you will be a great surgeon or a great athlete, but today you are 5 years old and it’s your first day of school or first day kicking the ball around.  The good future is guaranteed, but today there is much confusion.
Here is some advice to try for the next month.
Keep a journal and write about how it goes.
I look forward to hearing about your results.

We already learned about the Still, Vegetative, Animate and Speaking degrees.
When it comes to your SV&A desires, live as a normal person in the world.  Go to work, eat well, exercise, take care of your family.
Simultaneously you are having a secret love affair with the Creator.  In your free time you read, you study, you watch the videos, go through the lesson materials.  But don’t try to apply everything you are learning in your spiritual work at your workplace and in the kitchen, etc.  It will be way too confusing.
As you develop your spiritual life and in your internal world begin to stabilize the forms that the kabbalists give us in their books, the Peter who goes to work and cooks dinner will start to have a different inner life that already has a better “wifi” connection to the Creator and your SV&A desires will ascend with you.
Slowly slowly.  We can’t skip any steps.
Take the time to go through these exercises.
    Good luck,
    Seth@Kabau

    Maria,
    Yes you are correct.
The only thing that comes from the Creator is bestowal.
All of creation is the opposite force, reception.  Creation is discerned according to four degrees of desire, inanimate, vegetative, animate and speaking.  All of them different and more intense degrees of reception.
In order to enter spirituality, we need to be more like the Creator, which is the quality to bestow.
However, we are a desire to receive and we will remain a desire to receive, as this is the matter of creation that the Creator created.  What we have the opportunity to do is to change our inner direction from reception to bestowal.
As a simple example, imagine that you make a holiday meal for your children.  So you are serving them, but through this giving, you are receiving, you receive pleasure from giving.
So we can see that it is not about whether the hands give or take, it is about the inner attitude.
This is what we will learn more about, where is that intention inside of us and how do we work with it in order to receive from the Creator, which we must, as this is how He made us, but to receive not for ourselves as a tiny little spec in all of reality, but to receive in order to bestow, to be connected to Him and everyone, everything.
