I’m feeling a deeper appreciation of Kabbalah as a bridge between mysticism and science. I am the vessel willing to receive light and my intention resonates in harmony or dissonance. Dissonance, the distance, or separateness of the will of the Creator and the will of the Creature is experienced as suffering. Harmony, experienced as the will to bestow.
December 1, 2024 at 9:28 am EST in reply to: Preparation Question: To what perception of reality do we want the study of Kabbalah to lead us? #406885JaniceParticipantI want this study of Kabbalah to lead me to a perception of the reality beyond what I know through my five senses.

I have since gone back to that person and exclaimed ‘it’s a science’.

Your explanation “Kabbalah divides our research of the Creator into two parts” is helpful. He Himself is separate from Created beings and the revealed phenomenon an aspect of the Creator. At this time, unable to grasp His essence I can come to know Him, Bo-Re by His attributes.

This teaching of Kabbalah, called ‘the Creator’ seems irreverent … I have heard and read that to study or to practice Kabbalah one does not need to believe God exists, however one does need to acknowledge the universe is the work of ‘the Creator’ who “does not signify a supernatural, distinct entity, but the next degree that a human being should reach when pursuing higher knowledge.” Who and what is ‘the creator’ ?
November 24, 2024 at 8:19 am EST in reply to: Preparation Question: What do you expect from the lesson? What do you desire to achieve from it? #405051JaniceParticipantMy expectation is of myself, that I have settled whatever was needing my immediate attention, and have mindfully prepared to listen, to query what I do not understand and to be patient when hearing, feeling or thinking something that makes me uncomfortable – vulnerable. I want to be able to recognize when and how inner change becomes an opportunity for me to witness the steadfastness of the Creator.
