It was nice to get an actual insight, in plain language, into the practical side of Kabbalah. There is much talk about the practical nature of Kabbalah but rarely do the texts delve clearly into what this means in practice with other group members. Most of the beginner material is directed at internal motions towards the Upper Force, and the more advanced material while it may be addressing this practice, seems to always be very cryptic and difficult to understand.
I’m hoping this course provides an opportunity to finally actualize the practical elements of the wisdom.
Nick MartinezParticipantIt’s possible that currently I’m feeling a descent, but truth be told – the further I have gotten through KabU the more disillusioned I feel regarding the Kabbalah. This isn’t the first time I’ve felt this way over the past 13 years I have come and gone from studying the wisdom, but all of it seems to boil down to the endless confusion and seeming contradictions while studying the texts, plus the hopelessness of ever finding and getting truly connected to a group that shares the same desire for real spiritual attainment.
I understand that KabU eventually does connect it’s students to a group, which appears to be the only practical means of attainment in the wisdom (as Kabbalah frequently asserts corporeal actions cannot advance oneself). However, I have doubts in the effectiveness of virtual connection in the same way that I’ve experienced virtual connection in the past (work from home, fellowshipping through zoom, etc..) in that virtual connection does not seem to fully emulate live connection between humans.
With that being said, after all of these years I still cling to the Kabbalah because deep in my heart, confirmed with bits of experience, I know it to be true. And because of that I look forward to whatever this path will eventually reveal.

How would these many issues be approached differently? #367254Nick MartinezParticipantI don’t believe there is a corporeal solution we can comprehend before the revelation of the Creator, for all of our possible ideas of how our current issues could be handled would be distorted by our own egoistic interpretation of what this spiritual law of Love actually is.
March 14, 2024 at 8:53 pm EDT in reply to: Preparation Question: Our entire work in Kabbalah is only to attract the light that reforms. By this we receive everything we need for our advancement. Furthermore, I’m told that if I will help the others, I will advance myself even more towards spirituality. How does this work? What does it mean to help the others, those with the point in the heart, on the spiritual path? #364714Nick MartinezParticipantTo help others in and of itself is some similarity of form with the Creator, since even though this action exists in our world, it is nonetheless some form of bestowal. Because of that, one draws nearer to the Creator.
Aiming to help those specifically with the exact same goal and intention towards the Creator however, strengthens our own efforts towards spirituality because it expands our own desire for spirituality more than what is possible on ones own
March 4, 2024 at 4:25 pm EST in reply to: Preparation Prompt: Considering our journey thus far, how can we fortify our connection with the illuminating force? How do we amplify its transformative influence? #363416Nick MartinezParticipantIt seems that all signs point to the group/environment, via the bonding of souls with a common aspiration to the spiritual.

The videos this week appeared to make a strong assertion that the ego (the will to receive) cannot be suppressed or destroyed. What then, is the concept of Tzimtzum? Does the concept of Restriction have no corporeal relation whatsoever?
I can’t remember exactly where I read it, but some of the texts here seem to imply that Tzimtzum is quite literally the only action the Creature can take in order to cross the Machsom, because below the Machsom the Creature has absolutely nothing to bestow. It can’t possibly bestow to the Creator because it has no perception of him (I can’t, without deluding myself, enjoy a slice of cake ‘for the sake of the Creator’), and even on a lower level it can’t possibly bestow to other people because Egoism cannot be eradicated without help from above.
In other words, are efforts to restrict our corporeal desires with the intention of getting closer to the Creator a waste of time and energy? Is the practical work in a group our only tool at our disposal to becoming closer to spirituality? This last question is particularly stressful because of the worry that one won’t ever find a group of Points in the Heart in order to work with.
