Is the vessel of bestowal: the need/desire to bestow..?
- May 10, 2022 at 2:09 pm EDT #288674AntoninaParticipant
The “receiving” of the egoistic type always takes, diminishes the giver or a brother somehow. The Creator only “gives” (benefits all, increases all) never “takes” (diminishes anyone). The “Bestowal” is a state of being. By transforming our receiving for egoistic purpose to receiving to “please the Creator”, we invert out sate of being an egoist into a state of being an altruist (one who bestows).

It would be more accurate to say the will to receive is the need and the vessel to bestow is the ability.
But that’s also not completely accurate since the desire to bestow is a desire, and it’s all done with the will to relieve – the question is how you use it.

Yesterday I listened to a Hebrew reading of the Zohar. I know nothing about the language. During the reading I began to feel/sense a very strong radiance that went completely throughout me. It was wonderful and a bit frightening. The fear diminished but the sensation lingers.
Now my ego is trying to corrupt the pleasure. Will the ego stop telling me it was hypnosis or imagination?

Hi David,
The ego will always corrupt our pleasure. This is why we must learn to receive pleasures of bestowal. By acquiring the nature of bestowal, there is no limit to the pleasures I can receive.

Is the study of Kabbalah gives pleasure according to the amount and quality of the reading, or there are stages that brings displeasure by reading it..?

Your ‘pleasure’ is your very personal interpretation of the sensed material. Say you’re blind, I show you a painting – that you love the most now. What do you feel? I show the same to a myope, a nearsighted, and one with 20/20 vision. What does each feel when beholding this amazing painting? Do you have the masach (screen) to discern spiritual masterpieces? Developed, in what degree? A Kli? A Soul? Your feelings (of pleasure) depend on many factors, including likes, dislikes, habits, preferences, prior experiences, purpose for being here, etc. I am a bookworm, I read this kabbalah (on the KabU site) for hours and just desire more and more. I enjoy when it makes sense, I enjoy when I don’t understand and search deeper (some answers come 2-3 days later – what a radiant joy!), I argue with the ideas in front of me, disagree a lot, etc. I’m reading the Zohar commentary from 2 sources, the Ashlag is more mature, the one on KabU is like baby food, each small piece grinded down to puree so it will make sense for me. This tells you NOTHING about you. My purpose is to talk with (commune) the Creator face to face 24/7. This means NOTHING to you. Except: I am here to honor our oneness (I am part of you), and you benefit from my joyful involvement. The more light I receive, the easier is for you to progress.

Mrc,
If a person engages in the study in order to correct one’s qualities and come closer to the upper force, which is pure bestowal, then one can appreciate the opportunity to make efforts.

My activity mostly reading kabbalah and the bible.., why I don’t feel good..?
- May 10, 2022 at 3:02 pm EDT #288677AntoninaParticipant
The Bible – the original Torah (Bibles today have been so edited that much truth is distorted) is written in the language of kabbalah. If you like the Bible, learn the language first, then, a new horizon will open up. KabU has explanations of Bible passages – translations from kabbalah into English. Rav Michael Litman is great at explaining so many things.
I was 13 when a light went on in my mind. The pastor was reading in Exodus (I think) how god told the Israelites to go kill the Canaanites, including all the women and children. In that moment my whole being ‘stood up’ (inside), without any doubt, a deep knowing, stating: “this is NOT TRUE, my GOD (my Creator) only gives life, He is NOT a killer. Some day I will understand what this means.” Now, more than 4 decades later the answer came: in kabbalah language those are not literal, material stories at all.
Your “not feeling good”, I believe, you’re most likely advancing rapidly. We’ve been so brainwashed so far, so long, that the truth makes us sick, we feel like we are dying. Yet, we are just being born anew, in the truth of the Love of out Creator. Stay here, we are holding you up, the feelings will align when it serves your best interest. Do you feel the love of the instructors answering you, it blows me away! This is my Creator’s family! Namaste.

Mrc,
I cannot answer you specifically because it depends on different factors. Generally, a person feels dissatisfied with life because one approaches life through one’s ego, and we learn that the ego does not allow one to hold on to fulfillments, but rather it presents one with various fleeting pleasures. True fulfillment comes through pleasures of bestowal which we learn to acquire through the guidance of a Kabbalist and under the influence of a society of people who aspire for the same goal.

Is Kabbalist better than others then they should think that they are better rather than the opposite..?

Mrc,
People who are brought to the wisdom of Kabbalah are those with the most developed egos, and it is specifically on top of this more developed ego that a person can acquire spiritual discernments. A person’s growing egoism and the aspiration to enter a more altruisric spiritual state gives birth to the necessary forces to bring one into the the spiritual world. So those who come to Kabbalah are more aware of their nature.

Why study something that makes you the worst..?
- May 10, 2022 at 3:19 pm EDT #288678AntoninaParticipant
Say you have a basement (or attic) full of junk, and small animals (rats), moths, spiders, termites, etc., developed homes there. You go take look. Is dark in there, you see nothing. You close the door and promise to return later with light and tools to clean up. Decades later, you go to clean your basement (or attic). You open the door, and a nauseating stench makes you step back and close the door. But you are determined, and open the door with a mask on your nose. Light on! What you see is grotesque in so many ways. You clean up one by one, each object that is salvageable and notice the destruction – many are just trash. Was the trash there before you determinately turned the light on? Yes! You just did not see it. LIGHT ON! Now you see the destruction that the ego developed over a lifetime. Of course you feel worse. Did the light cause the decay? Thanks to the light NOW YOU SEE to … clean up, to correct.
Kabbalah is a tool, a light in the dark, and much more.

Mrc,
If you are referring to the study of the wisdom of Kabbalah, It doesn’t make someone worse. We are on a gradual path of discovering our true nature and how close or far that nature is to the quality of spirituality, which is only bestowal. One who studies the right books in the right environment learns what actions and efforts must be made in order to come closer to spirituality.
It’s written, a person doesn’t actually grow worse. One’s egoism was always there; however, a person lacked the awareness. Once we become aware, we can make actions to acquire a new nature.
