is there some kind of discrepancy when man is talked about as needing to give to the creator, and then it seems that’s the same thing as thinking about the greater whole, like other people, the greater unity, and taking pleasure in that?  are they the exact same thing?  because the latter makes sense to me, while the idea of giving to the creator seems like an unnecessary complication since the creator shouldn’t need anything from us.

        Hey Michael,

Not the exact same thing. It’s as it’s written, “from love of the created beings to love of the Creator”. The article Rabash wrote about needing to reach the first floor before you can go up to the second floor (the Creator) speaks exactly about that–but also in many other places. It seems like a complication because He’s concealed. It’s not the “world” that’s “Good that does Good”, so when this force is gradually opened up to a person–that this is the single operating force in reality–He becomes the closest to you, the one that understands you the most, the one that penetrates everything, this is who you have business with. Therefore, the more we progress and stabilize ourselves in a ten where we can rise above our ego, we enter a new perception above the ego which previously concealed this force from us and use the environment as a means to constantly increase our contact with the upper force more and more.

        Thanks!

There is no coercion in spirituality, but where do we draw the line? For example, what if my daughter is picking up books from  school, that have kids cartoons about different religions, or, idol images etc. Is stopping her from learning about that stuff still coercion ? By saying we don’t do that etc.  Or guiding her towards our beliefs ie: Kabbalah also coercion ? Where do we draw the line?

        Hey Brad,

The rule “there’s no coercion” speaks about bringing someone towards spirituality–it’s because you can’t “buy” a desire for it.

With regards to you daughter and other similar examples, as a parent we of course want to educate them as much as we can about the path. They should know what exists out there, that’s important, but being an example is the best route.

In my YG TEN, we are to choose excerpt sources, but can we also choose blog articles from The Rav to glean from? Thx.

      • #359909

        Hey Brad,

Sure why not. There are some great posts there that go in depth into many topics, but the Rav would certainly recommend studying only from BHS or Rabash. Nothing wrong with supplementing to help guide the conversation or the workshop, but we only study from the sources.

        Thanks!

Hi.the screen should be made by me? what’s my role and the role of upper light.thank u

        Hi Ali,

Your role is to want this correction–to want to be able to have the strength to do good to others/the Creator. You’re role in that is making sure you don’t waste time reaching the necessary discernment you need to acquire in order to achieve that whole desire to become a partner with the upper light. This is “the work of the Creator”, meaning He does the work, you just need to ask.

        Thanks!

is it possible to sympathize with people, and this way change our perception of those around us and therefore create a better environment that in turn influences us, or will people always be too horrible and it’s impractical, and you need people who are more further along (like who study kabbalah)?

      • #359907

        Hey Michael,

I’m not sure what “people” you’re referring to–if it’s those who study with you on the path here or those who have no affiliation to Kabbalah.

Sympathizing with anyone is a human quality. It won’t bring you correction however, since the necessary component of seeing that it’s the Creator only around you and you have business only with Him–since this component is missing, you’ll be led astray.

The ego-dominant world we live in will always be horrible until we can correct the ego. This is the purpose of Kabbalah. Not everyone will need to study to reach correction, but those who are drawn to it must do the work for everyone else. Their correction depends on the work you do.

The main thing is do engage in the work, the mutual work, with those who are on the path with you–come closer to them, make corrections and you’ll begin to see that the world isn’t “horrible” the way you thought before. Continue on and you’ll start seeing and feeling this within yourself.

        Thanks!

are we supposed to fulfill all our worldly desires (animal, wealth, power, knowledge) first before we begin to look at the spiritual?  or what seems to me like the complete opposite idea—is it completely wrong to think that kabbalah helps in getting things that you need or want in life?

      • #359906

        Hi Michael,

“What you want in life” depends on the development of a person’s point in the heart. One could live 50 years on this earth without a thought about the purpose in life until that point. Only when a person yearns for fulfillment of specifically that point, Kabbalah cannot be of aid. Going back and trying to find life in pleasures of this world which you’ve already determined do not fulfill you, delays development of the point in the heart. Typically, a person finds Kabbalah only after they’ve determined the desires of this world bring only empty pleasures.

        Thanks!
