I think G-d is not good from before untill we unite with him, in the meantime He’s just a Father who is very hard on his children

It’s always love though. Love we don’t understand which would sound something like, “love of a Father” hints at the perspective of a child, who cannot yet identify what it means to be a parent.

Does G-d’s essence “the good who does good” or unknown?

“Good that does good” is how the vessel perceives the light. We can never know the essence of the light itself without the context of our perceiving vessels.
