What does transitioning from a self-centered perception of reality to one grounded in altruism entail?  Lots and lots of practice!  I first started to understand this when I became a parent.  I never realized how self-centered I truly was until my world suddenly and irreversibly had to revolve around caring for a mate and children.  And that was just the beginning of learning to adjust, to take it a step at a time, a day at a time, to maintain grace without losing my mind.  It takes a lifetime of practice, with small things and big things alike.  This morning, the dog sat patiently next to me while I ate breakfast, looking and hoping that he’d “get his share.”  I wanted that food as much as he did.  But it’s all about practice.  I reminded myself that God sends rain and shine on both the good and the bad, constantly giving, an ever-flowing fountain of love.  So yes, that last, really good piece went to the dog. Good luck to all of you on your journey. 🙂

Making the transition from perceiving reality from how the world affects just  me, to understanding the the desires of others and how their desires shape their reality and meet this with compassion with the intention to give above my own egoistic desires.

Right now, I think it means that I don’t submerge or get rid of my ego or my desires, but that my goals become the same as those of the Creator.

To me it entails training the mind to serve others as the lord serves us in all that we do. by practicing this i believe eventually it wil become our first nature in the process of human evolution. as a result of this we will be better able to be effective at leading by altruistic nature for the highest good of all of humanity the goal to me is complete harmony balance love and unity with continual ascension!

For me, this transition isn’t easy; sometimes I still put myself first. But every moment I think of others, I feel closer to the true meaning.

Shifting from a self-centered view to an altruistic mindset requires profound self-awareness and empathy. It’s about recognizing that true fulfillment comes from contributing beyond oneself, fostering connection and kindness. I remember struggling to move past my own desires during a community project, where the spirit of giving flourished, much like the vibrant energy you find at Monkey Mart. Such experiences highlight growth and shared humanity.
