ParticipantWhat does it mean to shift from an egoistic perception of reality to a perception based on bestowal?
By changing our intention we can shift from an egoistic perception to one of bestowal.

Nick MartinezParticipantIn corporeal terms, this shift essentially means living each day in the service of the needs of others before your own.
In Kabbalistic terms, it is the complete and total nullification of egoistic desires, aspiring only to desires that aim to bestow upon the Creator or his creation (also the Creator). This is a higher level than just the actions that are taken in the corporeal definition mentioned above, as the inner desires inside of a person must be directed to completely reject any and all sensations for pleasure to the extent that they cannot be enjoyed outside of motivation of self fulfillment – which below the Machsom is virtually all of our desires.
Only after help from above can we actually begin to feel and perceive reality as a force of bestowal. Until then we must maintain a constant aspiration to be brought into this state and a Faith in the Creator that all of the events in our lives are meant for the purpose of bringing us into this state.
