Are we speaking only hypothetically?
Hypothetically, what was in the past, before Kabbalah, we don’t consider, and I need to work toward the society as if toward the Creator. All people regardless of their past will need to correct their souls and attain the Creator.
Of course, in practice, we always take the student’s feelings into careful account. It’s essential that each friend feels a sense of safety and trust within their spiritual environment.

By becoming like the Light, instead of being in the form of reception, being in the form of bestowal. There are many steps to this, which require consistent study of the wisdom of Kabbalah.
Kabbalah doesn’t provide that because the Upper Force only answers prayers for Equivalence of Form with it. If I’m in the form of the Creator to some extent, things will be as good as they can be, taking into account that there is a plan for me, aimed at me becoming similar to the Creator and it won’t be compromised. It could be that there are things I’d like, which actually conflict with the Creator’s Will. That’s why it’s written, “Make your will as His Will” and He will satisfy your will.
While this is not a forum for that, Hope, we do feel for you, and we’ll think about you in hopes that you will have the basics you need, so that you can do your spiritual work.
It’s like a conversation, a seesaw, or breathing. First, I cancel myself, leaving all the room so the friend fills the whole of reality; second, I return all the forces back to them. Who does the giving and who does the receiving, doesn’t matter – since both are according to the ten’s desire and not mine – thus, both turn out to be acts of nullification. If everyone does so, each reaches the center of the ten, according to their Equivalence of Form with that center point, and in it, through our Equivalence we connect.
A fast as in not eating? The Creator doesn’t respond to that, and that’s why your prayer will not be granted. That’s why we don’t teach students to do that. It’s written that in prior generations there were such methods of mortification of the body. But Kabbalists made corrections within the spiritual system so that one no longer needed to do that, but could advance instead through the Reforming Light – and with that, the possibility of advancing through those old channels also became impossible.
